is it better to use the gain built in to the amp or turn up the sw channel on my head unit? im not looking for big comp bass, wanting the best quality sound.
Depends on the deck. Most of the time it's fine to turn the sub all the way up on the deck and then adjust the gain on the amp so it's not clipping.
