hey guys went out today and noticed my signals aint working. What they are doing is when i signal any direction the light comes on and stays on both outside and inside my car...my car is a 92 cavalier z24...i bought a new flasher but since im new to cavs cannot find the flashers location. any idea where it is? also if its not the flasher what coudl it be?

Thats a flasher. Its behind the trim panel under the steering column. Its just to the right of the column once you take the panel off.

One of the bulbs is out on each side.

Well just got in from running outside and the hazzards work....also if one bulb was out on either side woudnt the one that still was working blink? When i signal the front and back go solid.

Yes it should go solid, Federal law requires flasher systems to indicate when a turn signal bulb is out, its part of the function of a flasher. When a bulb goes out there is not enough amperage passed to heat the bimetallic strip in the flasher, therefore it wont flash, it just stays solid. The hazards flash because all four bulbs are enough to cause the bimetallic element to operate normally and flash the bulbs.

thanks for the info man was a hot day outside here in canada sask -1c so i cleaned the car and popped in the new flasher and BAM worked like new! thanks all
