Does anyone know what I have to bypass to make my car push to start. I have a little push button and 2 toggle switches 1 for a kill switch. I was wondering does anyone know how? My friend did it to his Nissan Z and I wanna do it to my car. Someone pleAse message back, thank u for Ur time! Or email me at keyzmrswag@gmail.com.
Its pretty simple. Just have to find the wires from the ignition and re route them to wherever you want your switches to be. I know guys that do it all the time, not exactly push to start, but a button that you have to push along with turning the key to start it, makes it hard to steal even if somebody has the key or breaks the tumbler... It works much like the clutch switch in manuals except its somewhere you can push it.
I have never been into the wiring on my cav yet but it should be pretty simple, find the hot wire at ignition, run a jumper of it to your switch location, and also the wire that goes to the starter solenoid. Wire the power through the switch, toggle first if you want, then the push button, and then from the switch go to the solenoid wire and you should be push to start.
Your second toggle switch would be wired into another one of the power wires that feeds the ignition coils.. It will take some more research on your part just to find the right wires...
I have to ask, what would you do about the key? leave it in the ignition?..
I will say I did do this to my truck, cheaper fix than replacing the ignition switch, its a little easier to figure out with just the starter and ignition wires... And the truck is a 76 Scotty beater so I dont really worry bout it getting stolen, even if they did steal it they would bring it right back
I don't think i will ever do it to my other cars, I guess i don't see the point of doing all that work for something that is already built into the steering column.
You're going to need more than just that for a passlock vehicle...

It depends how far he gets into it, you can disable the passlock if you have to, wouldn't advise it... Like I said i think its stupid to change what is already built into the steering column. If he is going to get rid of the key he might as well take out the passlock too. Just waiting to be stolen.
