I am going to install an amp into my car but I don't know where to locate it so its not so "hey look at me". Can anyone suggest where to put it and if possible include pics?
If its nice u can put it in my car, the best place would be the back of the seat. If its smaller u can put it under the front seats.
In the trunk yes but would you just put it there or mount it to something or build something to mount it on to? I saw someone built a rack of some sort but I can't seem to find the thread. There were lots of pictures. I wounder if that would be difficult to do but like I said I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
amp racks are very common. You shouldn't have much trouble finding pics.
Screw it right to the back seat
Mine are on a rack towards the front of the car in the trunk. When I had my 15 it was screwed to the back of the box facing the rear of the seat.

that sundown box looked pretty official. You should head on over to menards and get some carpet for that amp rack. That would help sexy it up a bit
Thanks TheSundownFire you gave me an idea with the two amps on the wood/particle board. Now here's another question; can an amp be mounted upside without it causing any problems to the amp?
Yes it can. The big thing to make sure of is that the amp has proper ventilation if it tends to run hot. Im going to build a plate to cover all of the wires at some point. Then Ill be putting in a computer fan or two to keep everything cool.
Ive got carpet for everything but I lack the time and room to work here at school. The box was carpeted and painted. Jo Ann fabric stocks some nice felt that matches my trunk carpet very well. Its more of a function over form thing as of now Ive still got to mount 2 crossovers and an EQ. And that box was awesome. But sadly it sits empty in my attic awaiting its next victim.
