im having a helluva time trying to figure out whats wrong with my turn signals. the corner bulbs arent very bright at all even after i replaced them and the tail lights stay on even when the car is off and switch is off.. when i turn on the switch to parking lights (i think thats what its called) or headlights the turn signal arrows on the dash are lit up and the turn signals dont work no matter what position the switch is in... i have replace the headlight switch and turn signal flasher and all the bulbs.. the tail lights are the autozone leds and the rest are regular replacement bulbs any advice is appreciated....
did u get a electronic flasher to go with the led bulbs ? it is required to work corectlly, although it sounds like you may have another issue, but i would start with that.
no i didnt get an electronic flasher but i did get the tail light stayin on issue fixed..when i changed the flasher i took out "button" for the brake pedal and it made them stay on but my problem now is that the turn signals dont blink but i can manually rock switch and make it blink and and on the gauge cluster the arrows light up when i turn on lights and i was thinking last night as i was bout to fall asleep that its a 98 cavalier
That smells like a bad bulb to me. Check the park lights. The bumper signal lights should be fine because they only have one filament IIRC, but the parklights have two filaments and if they short inside the bulb (happens more than you'd think) they'll do what you're describing.
it will not flash right with led bulbs and a non electronic flasher because the amperage draw is so much lower. get a electronic flasher or put the regular bulbs back in. In fact try putting back in regular bulbs and see if it starts working.
