My windshield wipers started acting up a few months ago. At first they stopped working completely and I started messing with the fuse box and this fuse pictured below with the added on jumper was loose so I messed around and got them working again. Weird thing is they only worked after the car warmed up completely.
Today I pulled the fusebox and yanked that fuses wires and am going to wire in a custom fuse tomorrow, but now they're acting super weird after trying to just touch the wires together. When I press the wipers I hear a weird screaching sound that just screaches then stops, almost like they're trying to work. I'm so lost on what to do right now any help is greatly appreciated.
Also was wondering if I could replace the wiper switch on the column with the variable speed switch or is there more involved than just swapping the switch?
Now the domelight and trunk light quit working.
Maybe stop touching your cars electrical and ask someone who knows what they're doing? Seriously... "BassJunkie" tells me you're the typical DIY street thumper with subs pissing his neighbors off and running wires all over the place in their car. Seriously... you probably @!#$ something up with your audio.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Heel!
OP:
What happened when you simply removed the add-a-fuse and replaced it with a regular, known good, fuse?
Those add a fuse deals are crap. Mine was made crappy and never made good contact. Circuit would die if I hit a nice solid bump in the road.
Depends where you buy it I guess.
It's kind of hard to screw something that simple up though.
I guess. It was like the socket was only half in there. I could wiggle the fuse around inside the holder.
JL don't even respond to my posts. You're a waste of my time and my time is valuable unlike yours
Sundown, that isn't an actual pic of my car but the fuse in the car was doing similar things to what you were stating (loose and such). I ended up pulling the wires off the fuse panel completely and wiring up my own agm fuse under the dash but no dice. I cannot find my haynes manual for the life of me, wiring schematics would be such a godsend at this point.
Here is the best I can do with little to no effort on my part. Haha. I cant say for certain the wiring is the same but it should be similar enough to figure something out IMO.
Dude thats perfect thanks! Really bummed my haynes manual is missing but this will work! Thanks again.
Go buy another you slacker. Theyre cheap!
But then i'd feel like the government, couldn't find something so I just bought a new one LOL. I will end up buying one, but first i'm going to ask my bro if he's seen it because he may have it from working on my car last time.
Ah. Always a good idea. Just buy like 6 and keep one in all of your frequented areas,
Lol, my brother ended up having it at his house but I didn't end up getting it. I was in the garage all night rewiring my car for the new amp that comes today and ended up messing around with it with a test light and just wired up my own fuse and relay to wire up the wipers. Didn't fix the dome but eff it for now, I have competitions to get to lol.
