I searched and didnt really get a straight answer. I recently purchased aftermarket 6.5" speakers for my front doors. I know it needs an adapter. Would
these work for me? Also if you have a better suggestion besides making my own because Im not very good at cutting things up, please let me know. Thanks
they should but be careful the ones that i got were really thick and by the time i mounted the speaker in it i had to end up cutting my speaker grille and it just looked sloppy and half assed. i would really suggest making your own.
find a box fabricator to make you 1/2" or 3/4" thick MDF adapters. PVC is a NASTY and super resonant material that is brittle and flimsy. You want a good solid wood. If you can't find someone who can make some for you, I can get you in touch with some. DO NOT use PVC or any other plastic. Please.

JL, I read in one the threads you made them. Do you still make them? If so, please let me know.
I never did, I had a guy that I always used for woodwork that did. I do still know 2-3 people that can do it. That guy I used before took a dump

Well hell. I think someone should make these and sell them. Do a GP even.
I got my MDF speaker adapters off ebay. Just search around and you can surely find them. Look almost identical to the ones you link to, just made out of MDF.

I bought a set from one of his guys, quality product. Was happy with my purchase. Think I spent like $15 for it. But that was like a year or so ago.
Yeah I was still using Mike. He went another direction and completely dropped the ball on me and a couple others like me. It sucks, but he's doing bigger business things.

I'll do more searching. Thanks for all the info. I hope I can find some soon because my door speakers are blown.
after some searching, I cant find any mdf adapters.
Ewwwww more plastic. I'm working on getting in touch with a new wood guy, so if you aren't in a super rush right now, I should have someone lined up.

oh, trust us, we know
Find out a price, I probably want a set or two
Is that really a spammer with an almost 1 year old account?!?
Anyway, just to let you know, he's down to make 4X6 to 6.5" adapters for you guys, but has an M3, Hummer, and 535 in the shop that all need to get out ASAP so he said it will be 5-7 days before he has any time to make a preliminary set. If you can wait, cool. If not, no biggie. But I'm still going to have him go through with it because I can market them to the masses if the construction is easy enough and the price is right.

Just make sure tree flush enough so we don't have to cut up our door grill
they should be fairly similar to the one's Brad posted pictures of. Don't worry.
