I'm installing an aftermarket stereo into my 2004 LSS, what fuse should I tap into to get a switched 12V power source on the fuse box? I promise I used the search and read the stickys but nothing really. In my 03 Silverado I just tapped into the fuse marked as "radio" but there isn't such a fuse on the Cavalier. All help is appreciated, thanks.
It has to be hot at all times, something that works with the key off.
I fuse tapped the windshield wiper fuse, works good.
I was asking about the red wire, is that the one you're referring to? If so thanks ill give it a shot
Red is usually the power or ignition wire for the deck, you want to run that wire to the fuse panel.
And in my original post I should have said hot with key on, engine off.
The yellow wire is the one that is hot at all times to keep your presents/time and such.
Yes that's what I really meant "hot on ignition". Which fuse should I tap into
Wiper fuse is most commonly used. Just get an actual fuse tap, don't just cram the wire in there.
