I'm considering buying a factory refurbished amp, I have never bought one before. I'm not really worried about the warranty, but I would like to hear pros and cons or even experiences. Thanks in advance
in an ideal situation, every component of a refurbished product is checked for proper function. however, this is not always so, and sometimes just the most apparent cause of an issue will be fixed. this isn't just for amps, but for any refurbished product. so long as you have a valid warranty from an authorized seller, and understand that once the (often shorted) warranty expires, the refurbisher is no longer bound to fixing the product.
car audio noob since 1984.
I had a refurbished amp for a long time, never had any problems with it.
I ended up buying a New in the box Memphis Audio 16-MCD500
JL AUDIO lists their refurbs as B stock. More often than not they are looked over better than a new A stock amplifier. As long as the company you are dealing with has a good rep, why not?
