I need a switched wire inside the engine bay, where its on when the car is on and off when the car is off,
which wire would be best ?

Not quite sure, something at the starter maybe? Cruise control or wiper motor? I ran power from inside the car. It can be done pretty easily as well.
So you need an ignition activated wire???
The brown wire on the heated o2 sensor
Run off the fuel pump in the fuse box.

Correct, that stays on while the car is on , and shuts off when its off

I'm planning to hook it up to a relay that will power my heat exchanger pump, I don't plan to use it as a power source, only as a on/off switch pretty much, hence the relay
