Trading my 01 base Cavalier for an 00 Z24 in about a month, but a problem that's going to annoy me untill then, is that the radio won't turn on when i start the car. I have to press the button on it to get it to turn on or off. Its one of the cheaper Pioneer head units. I pulled it out, and everything looked alright. The wire harness wasen't hooked up the lazy way, and everything was matched color for color. I remember it happening with my 4 door, and i ran a wire to the radio fuse in the fusebox. That's probably not the right way to do it, but how else would i get it to come on when i turn the key?
the car does not have a switched 12v from the factory that a wiring harness adapter will connect to. Running a lead from the red wire on your pioneer wiring harness to the fuse box to the wiper fuse with an add-a-fuse or fuse tap would be the easiest way to do it.

No problem, hope that solves all the issues.
