Just pulled a double din radio out of a 02 impala headed to the crusher at my job. Double din dvd fo free=win. Now got everything wired up and shes working perfect, but im running into the issue ive read about on the site quite a bit about the spacing issue. Is there anyway at all I can get this thing in without cutting the dash? I have like the rarest gauge cluster in cavalier history all the lights work in it at 200k miles and I would hate to f them up just to cut a piece of plastic for a radio.

Ok guys got it to work without cutting just had to sacrafice the backup cam for now it just wouldnt tuck in with that wire there. You can easily tuck most of the common wiring in to the left rear of the unit. Be careful not to screw the 3 screws back in to tight or you'll crack your dash, my boy did it to his on the right side. Ignore aladdin and broken dash lol, only dvd I found from my nephews room, and new dash hasn't been put on yet.

Is that your install? A ruined dash?
Why would you ruin your radio bezel? You can find dashes at the junkyard. All you have to do is cut that back. There is no downside to it. All my cars have double dins with the back cut for the radio. Now for the bezel they are getting pretty hard to find uncracked.

Looks like you got a little excited. If you think you can fix that bezel go for it. I've seen people fix stuff like this before and look better-than-acceptable; meaning you wouldn't know unless you looked closely enough. However that was a smooth bezel. Textured bezels... Hopefully there's a lesson learned here. On the other hand, congrats on getting DVD installed into your cavy!
Obviously not, dash was already like that, been like that since I got the car, every time I find a bezel in a junkyard it's cracked or severely weak and will crack if I try to remove it, I'll get a new one with dash cap cover to when I find a good deal I never feel like spending 200 on them from eBay lol.
