...and I know we've gone over this a million times, but I'm interested where people have mounted their pumps/intake nozzles for reference when I do my install.
Thanks!
my pump is in the passenger side fenderwell under the msd, the tank is next to the washer fluid tank on the other side

No man thats the wrong kind of heet......so why dont you go ahead and mail that to me and I'll use it.........just kidding yes thats the stuff im just messin w/ ya...
My pump and tank are in the trunk on the drivers side..........Nozzle is mounted on the bottom side of the elbow that comes off the throttle body....facing straight at the throttle body..

My pump is mounted to the front trans. mount...
I'm using the windshield washer fluid res. for the tank. And I mounted the nozzle here...

So mounting the nozzle underneath close to the TB is pretty much the best option I assume
? Any issue mounting it in the intake tube versus the rubber connector?
Bobby, I also noticed Iso-HEET with had isopropyl alcohol versus the methyl alcohol regular HEET has, I suppose methyl alcohol is better though? Curious as to the differences.
Love the stealth/clean install Gary! With all the room from my battery relocation I'm probably going to something visible, yet cleanly installed I'm hoping.
that is what i use
my nozzle is in my intake tube about 8-10 inches from the tb and the nozzle is pointed in the same direction as the air stream is traveling
so there is less chance will puddling , like if the nozzle was pointing towards the oppisite side of the intake tube
my pump is mounted to my strut brace , and the resivoir is mounted to the side of the abs and brake lines
The regular HEET/distilled water or the Iso-HEET I mentioned?
So I assume that's a 90 degree nozzle you use Eric? Also if I recall I can pick up such at a Lowes or a similiar home improvement store?
Thanks.....@!#$.....
I guarantee you he is out in the shop polishing that thing out, or powdercoating it now as we speak.
I <3 Gary and his detail.
OH CRAP!!! I'll have to go replace that with a bright shiny stainless steel nut.

yes im using a 90 and the fitting is just in the inside edge of a 90degree bend so that it points kinda up , so that the spray is more into the middle of the pipe
then closer to the floor of the pipe
Joe- Yea the regular heet/distilled water is what you wanna use. Don't use the red ISO-Heet stuff...

What is that pump for? What's all that for?
^^Its for a water injection system.

Madjack wrote:Like I said before, building an engine like ours (2.2 or 2200) is a painstaking chore , since there is so few custom made parts. It's frustrating to me too, but that's what I like about doing this engine, it's the challenge.
i have my pump mounted right next to the drivers side rear strut tower on the floor of the trunk. i have my tank mounted back towards that taillight on a slight angle downwards . then i ran my hose up through the car under the door pillar peice and then into the engine bay. i have the check vavle mounted on the battery tray and then the injector in the stock s tube( i will go search for blwnz24's picture as mine is the exact same) .
the wiring is pretty easy, i have the relay mounted to the front strut tower brace and the boost switch zip tied to the brake booster.
also i have a Blue LED on the boost guage pod . easy hook up, just run power to it and then the other wire to somewhere in the relay, i forget which #. and i have a on/off switch too. i went off coolingmists site for the extra wiring. pretty easy.
and i have that same mixture too of fluid. that HEET stuff was on sale at menards for $3.88 so i grabbed a pack.
that is the way i have it. (picture is from blownz24's car)
i have the same quick fitting thing i got from a buddy , then that brass 90 degree female/female peice (just get a picture of the coolingmist.com' angled injector and go to your hardware store and find one. )
i used a washer inside the S tube . IT was a pain to get the injector up in there, but i got it done with some pilers.
remember to use some teflon paste "with teflon" ( there is non telfon teflon paste that sucks) on all of the threads.
only then i am waiting on is to get warm outside so i can put on my new set up (like shown + the RK cold air extension peice) and see if the injector leaks. i doubt it will but i want to make sure.
need anything else answered just ask .
and i made a post a while back where to get some different size injectors for 8$.
Sweet deal, thanks for the help, that 4-pack of 12oz bottles was only $3.00 on sale, regularly 97cents a piece though so I won't complain.
Hmm I was under the impression I could just ground one side of the LED, and tap into the power for the pump to know when the system was spraying.
For anyone else looking I found that
post you made about other injectors, thanks!
well with the LED thing , i have one wire going to it is power, then the other wire goes to the boost switch port, i forget which one. that way when the boost switch goes on, the light goes on.
need anything else just ask.
..and I do! I took apart the injector to learn about things, but I want to confirm what I'm seeing-
I assume a washer inside the intake tube spaces it out for proper tightness?
This is kinda frustrating
......................
Woot, I got it right, finally I found it in these half-ass instructions.
Only thing I'm pissed about is I got the check valve, but the damn fitting only thread like 3 threads into the check valve.
YAY you put the injector back together correctly....Now install it on the car!
Yep same thing happened to me with my check valve. I thought I screwed it up but for once I did something right.
And I'm very glad to see that you are also gonna use a led activation light. Last week my ground wire fell off the relay which turns on the pump......and my alky kit wasn't working at all. I have a led and it wasn't turning on so immediately I knew something was wrong.....if I didn't have the led, I woulda definetely f'd something up on my motor....

Yeah saves a lot of hassle for sure, along with problems, though I'm still running stock pulley for now.
I got the pump all plumbed, the brass fitting threaded in easy with layers of teflon tape, almost too easy, but I'd hope it's sealed!
Going to Lowes tomorrow to look for 90 degree injector fitting/bracket to mount pump from strut tower.
joe , what part of using teflon paste did you not under stand ??
rookies
the 1 reason for using paste over tap , it doesnt leave strands to block the nozzle
causing it to not work
Actually the guy as CoolingMist didn't object to using teflon tape one bit, if you know how to apply it, it'll push outward once threaded in.
If you want to offer constructive critism, fine, suggest the paste, but there's no need to be a dickhead and try to talk down to me as some .org god.
Drunk, sorry Eric, still a dickhead though, with a Ford Blue engine bay...
@!#$ you and your paste
