i need help here, what i've done so far is a FPR, MSD in line fuel pump and a compression test on the cyclinders ,reason why is when i hit the gas it sounds like $hit like it's missing and no power the msd is hooked up after the stock pump and filter,is this a sensor of is the stock fuel pump gone, the car has 85k miles on it compression is the same for all four cyclinders,if i feater the gas( light pressure) it builds up speed, but anything agressive and it sounds bad like its missing a cyclinder the plugs are brand new and gaped at .43 and still look great after a 1/4 tank of gas at ideling, please help i feel its the stock fuel pump

the FPR and the MSD came after this problem,i really appreciate the help QBE it puzzles me because if i ease into it it builds fine to the rev limiter but hitting it , it sounds like $hit ,this has me puzzled it acts like not enough fuel,ie injector not working right , fuel pump not giving it enough fuel or a censor acting up,i don't have a check engine light after the i installed the FPR and when i put the MSD on it boosted the fuel pressure up 20 lbs,i hope this helps, once again thanks QBE

gap them plugs smaller.

how does your white coil pack housing look/ any carbon tracking? the plug boots ok?

my car around them miles had the coil pack housing take a crap.

start with the simpliest things first.

he said he has an msd pump and I am not seeing he has boost, he has all that added fuel volume and no boost

I think he needs to turn his base pressure down

will do QBE ,also i took my fuel rail lose to check the injectors and they worked fine,as in fuel was spaying out of them,i have fuel pressure, i looked at the spark springs, none broke looked like the day i bought them not sure about the coil packs but if they were bad woundn't the idle be the same as reving( $hitty ) anybody got the part number for the fuel pressure regulator ( the one that sits on the fuel rail ) and a price, after all this what if it's still the same what could it be? guys thanks so much for this if you all are ever in charleston wv we'll have a beer

that's what i'm thinking,at least through the process of elimination, but i dropped her off last night and hopefully i'll hear something today.i'll be glad when it's done, real frustrating to have a fast car that can't go fast, yall have given me great advice

QBE (The Boosted One) yes there was to much fuel i followed your advice and it made a big difference in idle Jake, i gaped my plugs small and was able to drive it with some power
streetantixz24 ,if i had a cat you would be right to think that, that usually explains a loss in performance
Publikdstrbnce ,i feel this could be part of the problem,i'll find out soon
Ben Brown ,i'm with you on that one, when a load is applied to the motor it needs more spark

thanks guys, you have been a great help,i have learned alot and read alot, the information passed along here is awesome, somethings you have to scroll through when arguements start but we are all competative and want to be the winner that's why we do what we do,thanks guys

well just talked to the dealer and 305 dollars later it is supposed to be just plugs and the spark plug springs......so i guess i fall into the catagory of " set the tools down, and don't ever pick them up again" boy do i feel like a noobie, but if that's not it,since they told me a price and said that will fix it,if it's not right do i just go back and have them fix it again?i really don't want to do that to a flat rate mechanic ,i hope it is right
