Ecotec Supercharger

OK i just a quick ? and i know it has probabaly been asked before but how many pulleys are offered for the supercharger for the ecotec and how much boost can be ran with fully built everything with the charger. I am looking for 12 to 15 psi is it possible and 300 hp possible also i probably spray nitrous as well.

any pulley you can get for the cobalt ss/sc is gonna work , so anything from a 3.8" to 2.5" , the smaller pullies will require the snout to be machined

3.0 will put you around 12-14 psi , and adding nitrous on will most likely end up with a real BLOWN motor

since youd have to use a dry shot , or try to use a direct port , and direct port will blow the motor unless you build it , since if i rememebr right your looking at the lowest about a 80-100 shot at which point youd be in the mid 300 range at the flywheel , more than enough to toss the rods out the side of the block

A 3.0 inch pulley will easily put close enough to 300 flywheel hp that a few bolt ons and a really good tune can help you hit your goal. As for the nitrous there are direct port setups that are much smaller and will fit our cars. If you do searches you will see what people have mentioned in the past. Spraying a wet shot will eat away at the teflon protecting the blades in the blower. Unless if you can tap it somewhere after the blower and make sure none of it comes back up. Remember if you run a dry shot thought somehow some where you will have to find more fuel to supply. Good luck with your goal.

my advice, don't even think about nitrous on top of the blower without forged internals and the ability to retard timing to match.

thanks for the tips the motor is going to bensons to be sleeved, forged lower comp. pistons, rods, micropolished and balanced crank, and the head is being done as well with the supercharger cams from comp cams. So the motor will be built and as far as tuning Hp tuners will take care of that 300 hp here i come.

your going to be doing alot , and i mean ALOT of tuning

also , you can not use the GM reflash for the eco s/c , you will be on your own

the eco reflash and hp tuners wont work together , gm put some kinda security coding in the program , so you can not view the info

ok alot of tuning never killed anybody most of the time a lot of tuning is invloved with every car that has forced induction. tuning makes perfect.
i mean when we did Sr20 swaps in a 240 it took alot of tuning to make every thing work correctly. I think it will be fun and a new experience for me ecspecially since this is my first j-body. The only reason i am doing this i want to be different and there are no built js in beaumont texas. All we have are cobras, srts, hondas, and cars like that which have been done a million times. I will keep an update and soon post pictures. Thanks for the support.

i wasnt saying the tuning was a bad thing

it just sucks ass that the GM eco s/c program isnt compatible with HP tuners

and from what it sounds like you got plans for , going with HP tuners is the better way to go

and not bother with the gm reflash

You can always get a 2nd ECU and use the HPTuners on that and then after your done playing with the new ECU then swap them. Shifted told me that you can use HPTuners on the GM reflashed ECU to read the information, if that is the case that would come in handy to everyone that has got the GM reflash and wants to use HPTuners. I do not know this for a fact, but I think that we can trust Shifted on this on.

So you can run Hp tuners with the s/c reflash or what?

ok well search a little and found out the reflash is bad so i am just going with the Hp tuners setup to tune the supercharger and n2o on my eco.

Go ahead and get the reflash on your stock ECU, then buy a 2nd ECU and use the HPTuners on the 2nd ECU. Then put the 2nd ECU on the car. If you look around you can find a ECU for less than $100.
