Hahn Stage 2.....
Thursday, July 27, 2006 7:49 PM
Hi guys, in the next couple of days i will be ordering the hahn stage 2 turbo kit. I was wondering what everyone thought of the kit and if this is a good kit to go with. Also, does anyone know who sells these kits for the cheapest price or the best deals? I am only looking for the stage 2 kit. any help would be appreciated. thanks
Chris

I sell the kits. IIRC they are selling for $3495 right now...unless the price already went up. I know that sometime this year the retail price was scheduled to go up to $3895, so if it hasn't yet now is a great time to buy.

The kit is 100% complete. It includes everything you need to install it and get your car running with boost. The install is about a 6 or 7 on the difficulty meter. It can be done with basic hand tools plus a few others like a tap for the oil return line in the pan.

I have the stage 2 kit on my car and it made 222WHP on 8PSI. With a set of 40# injectors and a 6:1 FMU disc it made 260WHP and 278 lb/ft on 12PSI. I'm rebuilding the motor right now and plan on running 10PSI on their 20G turbo now instead of the standard 16G that comes with the kit.

Email me or find me on AIM if you have any more questions.

so u got one too? rock on

but yea, you will love the kit. i HIGHLY recomend u spend like the extra 200 bucks and get the 20g from the get go. saves you the time and money if u choose to upgrade. but if your not looking to get all crazy, the 16g is a nice size turbo as well.

I keep forgetting to call them and lock in my price (again) at the sale price... I didnt know a 20g upgrade was an option, guess with that i could run 8psi and be putting around 240ish to the wheels then correct?

I think I can find one for around 2800US for the stage 2 kit. the 16G is enough for me as my budget is super tight already...

$2800 for the stage 2 kit? Where? That is HIGHLY unlikely unless it's used.

FYI: The 20G upgrade is $400 IIRC.

Ben: Gimme a call or an email sometime. I'll make sure you get the kit at a good price.

Can you tell me where? If it's another company selling them that cheap I'd like to know. Like to ask how they are doing that and making anything off them.

Go with the 20g if you plan on building your engine, otherwise the 16g is more than enough. I personally love my 20g The hahn kit is badass, just ask all the local STI's in my area.

^^^^did u upgrade from a 16g to a 20g? i sent mine off and im waiting for the 20g and portfueler.

hows it compared to the 16g? how much boost are you running? spool time?

I did the upgrade option when I ordered since I will be building the engine soon. Still need the portfueler though, I have heard a-lot of good things about it. The spool time is a little slower than the 16g, but when it spools it throws you back and its hard boost. The spooling starts at around 3k and is a solid 10psi around 3300. When its cooler out I have hit 11psi. Keep in mind it would spool faster with a bigger throttle body, port and polished head, all that good stuff. I will keep you guys posted as the build progresses. I am very happy with the set-up.

Sweet, do keep us posted, im saving up for an eco swap and the stage 2 20g turbo. Unless if something comes up, then its just the eco swap for next year.

Thats awesome, were going to have to start a 20g club. Anyway, Strat the 20g is only needed if you plan on building your engine up and doing internals. It is not needed if you don't plan on running over 400 hp. I am building my block to handle 30psi, and the 20g is good to 800 hp. Lets just say I have my work cut out for me, but im up for the challenge.

well... i'm not shooting for anything in the 400hp range so i guess the 16g will be fine for me.

Chris, are you hitting 10PSI without a MBC? I was thinking i'd have to install my MBC off of the audi to get the 10psi i want, but if its already gated to that then ill leave it alone.

Well my car is 95% done. We got the 20G on and bolted up. The exhaust is redone. Haven'tt gotten the intake pipe on yet, not quite fitting right so we gotta adjust it. After that its break-in time and testing of the car.

Anyone looking for a HRC kit, gimme a call. I need to make a couple more sales for the year so I can write of my racing expenses so I'm willing to give out better deals now.

That's fine. I need a few more sales to show a profit for the year. After that I can write off a bunch of parts and expenses. Yeah for the USA tax code

20G is listed at 500HP but I'm sure I can make it go higher....at least I'm hoping so. LOL. The 25G is listed at 700HP and is a completely custom made unit from HRC. Both are great units but I don't think a Cavalier owner will ever need a 25G unless they are making a full out drag car.
