Was looking through Rsm products, (i had knee surgery so stuck on couch with labtop...explains y im a post whore this week) and noticed on their s/c kit they have a bov on the intake tube to tb. Anybody how has the kit want to post up wether it works well or not.

BOV would NOT work on a gm s/c kit..just so nobody asks.

it blows off if thats what your asking, it works like a turbo it spools with rpm and when shifts lets off excess rpessure in the tube... thats all I can say

Centrifugal S/C's are more like belt driven turbo chargers than s/c's. They work the same, it has a charge pipe from the outlet on the compressor housing to the tb (or intercooler if you so choose). It needs a blow off valve for the same reason a turbo does, and it works the same way.

the gm s/c has a by-pass valve , does the same thing but its internal the way it blows off
actually its different the BOV is open at all times except when you step on it, its constantly venting excess air thats the jet like sound it makes then when you mash it the BOV closes and when you shift it works like a normal one to vent the boost

Ah so that is what that sound is. The Vortech charger can be thought of as nothing more than a large belt driven turbo. So. yes, the BOV works similarly to how it would on a turbo set up.
Well... the sound is also contributed to by the straight cut gears Vortech is known for... Actually more so than the BOV staying open.
