ok.
I race with a 05 redline, and now with his stage 2 tune+hpt,2.7 pulley and slicks hes runnig 13.5's. We were close, now hes almost 1/2 second ahead of me again. His biggest benefit is that his 2.o has the stock intercooler (most of us know this). Well, aftter reading what some of the guys in the ss groups are doing (adding front mount Heat exchangers) i had an idea.
I was thining of getting a heat exchanger (used one) and mount it up. Now the, the biggest problem is that theres nothing running thru the s/c to absorb the heat. So without taking the s/c off and trying to fab something out of metal, y not use something like a bladder to go ontop and around the bottom of the intake side of s/c. Similar to when lay ice on it after each run at the track, but this way hopefully the coolant would carry more heat away. Something like a tubliner.
The next question would be the hook up of the Heat exchanger. I'm assuming i would have to plum it up to each side of the radiator so the the coolant circulates though it.
Sound really gay, or has somebody come up with something better?
Yes i have a WI kit (M4) and it seems to work pretty good. But would love to keep temps really cool all the time.

I did not quite follow what you were saying. I think you have just reached the limits of the 2.4 GMSC. If you want to go faster with the 2.4 go turbo.

sounds like you have a good idea. I thought about how to suck the heat away from the m45 too. my thought was a little more involved. The intake pipe between the supercharger and the head take it off. Take an inch or inch and half stock of aluminum and cut it in half have it machined to have a water vaine on the top and bottom and the the bolts to connest it to the sc. i Think you can guess what i'm workin at but it should fit and provide the overly needed cooling for the m45. If i could host i would show you what i'm thinking of.
This sounds like too much work for too litle gain. Just my 2 cents.

you would gain soo much more with WI and you said you already have it. so the next logical step is turbo. The amount of work required to intercool or pull heat from the SC is just not worth it.

Didn't gain with WI, just kept the extra cooling inside the cylinders with the kit. But the amount of heat soaked through the s/c itself it gets pretty hot. Also, to mount a Heat exchanger is pretty easy, and the bladder i want to do, not a problem. I have lots of material at the shop i work at. However, to do a turbo setup would be a lot of work. Specially since the s/c seems to be working pretty good. Just want to make it better..like everybody does with their car.
Side note..found a Heat exchanger off another vehical. The mounting part is easy, should be pretty funny to see when i get a chance to make a rubber bladder. lol. but eh, if it works would have costed next to nothing, and if not, resell the Heat exchanger.
oh ya, lol, we have a heat exchanger at work from a plan. Freaking huge and thick. Its very nice...but is like 36lx16wx16d.

have that. good for wot in boost but, but doest take the heat soak away from the charger itself.

can't spray the alchol injection even when you are not raceing to keep the temps down.
