for those of you who are familar with the home made turbo oil return ritiual, its quite simple. they take there return fitting drill a hole in the pan and JB weld the @!#$ out of it.
now I know most of you are already typeing STFU NOOB but I was biging two wonder, why not.
the peice isnt load bearing it doesnt have any stress, and very little. (within jb weld parameters) if you get the peice to be snug and use the weld to just secure it then I cant see why it woulndt work. just wondering your thoughts?

if it works do it. but I would eventually weld it in or something
LE61T PTE6262 Powered
uh.... i wouldn't.... remember when you were talking about industrial solder on the bov? thats one thing, because if the blowoff valve flange were to crack off, WORST case scenario really would be you overspin the turbo and have to get a new one. If the JBWeld doesn't hold up on your oil pan fitting, say goodbye to your motor. You're better off just tapping the girdle like just about everyone else has done.... or does the auto tranny get in the way of that... those suckers ARE pretty big lol.

no Im fine getting to the pan. and this isnt evan really a question about my setup. I was just wondering if it was a ligit way to go. I mean they littlerly all do it.

i used it on my turbo 2200. never had a problem
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
do it. it will be fine. I did it on my 2.4 with no problems for over a year. Then I blew her up ahha
Blew it up, build numbers coming soon
I think if you do it right and prepare the surface well and make sure to get a good amount onto it and then test it I am sure you would be fine.
~Boost. Its what's for dinner!~
weld or thread if you want to do it right. thats just my $0.02
we drilled petes pan right on the car and threaded it/ jb welded it in with zero issue for a yr or so.
just make sure you dont drill the hole too big for the threaded barb.

well, pretty much the end all of it is, does it work? if it does, than you can't get more legit than that... Is it the best way to do things, eh, probably not. If we're just talking about jb-welding the threads though, thats different, its like super thread sealant/locker lol. But I wouldn't try to put a flat flange against a flat oil pan with jb weld...

i did this mutliply time to different cars... just drill the hole big enought for the fitting to screw in, screw it all the way in, then JB weld around it to help it hold and not leak. has always worked with no problems
For more information on this... see NJHK's car, my sunbird or any of the little Hondas I have turboed for people.

I'm surprised you show up to our meets after half of the things you say on here.
why use JB?
duct tape works just as well
I still say we should have jb welded pete's motor back together....
