White spark plugs means lean
Monday, July 31, 2006 8:36 AM
I looked at my spark plugs and they seem like white (lean condition) but I always run in the 12 - 12.5 AFR with my AEM Wideband at 8 psi. I didn't install my FMU cause I tought 12 AFR was good. Now that I saw the spark plugs, I wanted to add some fuel so I can cool it down a bit. What AFR should I get at WOT to be safely rich so my spark plugs don't show me lean condition?

Thanks!

how about you list your setup.

then maybe someone could accurately diagnose your problem.

adding fuel doesnt cool it down buckwheat...

get an egt then figure out whats happening, or as cc fab said list your setup accurately

That doesn't add up. Did you check all of the plugs? you are 12:1 across the board?

Yes the plugs where all white.

I see between 12:1 and 12.5:1 at WOT

it oscillate between 13 to 16 at idle and part throttle.

Maybe I need bigger injectors and an FMU?

well where is your wideband o2 sensor tapped in. if its closer than 8 inches to the outlet of the turbine, it could be very well reading wrong. and you are in fact leaner than you think. any idea what your egt's look like.?

seems to me that the 310cc injectors are way too small. also depending on what charger they reflashed your ecu for, the turbo may be pushing a bit more cfm than they are accounting for, again making you run lean.

your fuel setup is not ideal, and im sure this is where the problem stems from.

got any pics of the plugs?
