My brother is going to give me for free or almost free the turbo off his STi. Its a Vf39 internally wastegatted turbo. STi's run 16psi stock so i think i am fine there, only going to run 8-10 with alky injection. The turbo is fairly small so i am not worried about clearance. Anyone know of any problems/issues with trying this? I know i will have to get a custom manifold made but anything else? How much should that be?
Also anyone know more about this turbo's spec's? My bro isn't being much help on that end.

Why not alky injection? It lowers temps and reducing the risk of detonation, more power and less strain on the engine.
CCfab do you have a web site or something? I am looking for a log style manifold and i am thinking of having a spot for an external waste gate so when i upgrade the turbo after the new engine down the road i can go to external. But for now i would just block it off. That a good idea?
I am basically trying to figure out of this will be cheaper/better then buying a turbo and a premade manifold.
Also i dont know when i will be getting the turbo, if my bro waits too long i can buy one for $100-$300 from a local subi tunning shop. If this works will anyone else be interested?

i have a new domain name and the site isnt up quite yet.
if you plan on running an external wg down the road, id buy the mani with provisions for one, because you can just block off the flange with a blockoff plate, which i also stock.
better to spend 40 more once than sell a log take a loss and have to buy another one, or pay to have yours modded.

It is possible for someone to support you isn't it? The welds on the manifold I installed were very high quality. Anything else I wanted to say was said in private.

amen for that. weld quality since the mani youve seen has increased about 1000 times.
not to mention ym facility allows me to pump serious product, and , stay tuned for some serious jbody stuff you guys havent got to have yet.
Ok weird story cut to the point. A random guy i was talking to at lunch is going to give me stock WRX turbo, TD04, for free! CCfab will this change your offer of a custom manifold? Again it wont be for a while, count in months.
If your wondering why i am even asking is b/c i want to plan all this out before i start spending money.
