OK... No Smart Allecks Please..
Tuesday, August 01, 2006 9:17 PM
Ok. so I ordered my HAHN Stage 2 Kit. turns out they still have to put it together at there factory b4 they send it to me, fine whatever. Anyway, my quesiton is, can anyone give me like a rundown of stuff i need to do to make this run properly, reliabely. and so on. like do i need to mess with my cars ECU? is there anywhere I can get that lovely sounding SSQV Blow off valve for a good price? Does the HAHN stage 2 kit come with any kind of boost controller? or would i need to get one.. and so on. All the little tips and tricks would greatly be appreciated. and if TVR could come on msn and help me out that would be awesome too. Anyway thanks
Chris

The Hahn kit comes with everything you need to run reliably. Your ECU will not need to be retuned for anything. That's as far as I can help.

You can use the SSQV but you'll have to get the mounting flange welded on.
You won't have to retune the ECU but now that we have the option it is a great idea to start working on it.
The kit does not come with a boost controller. You have to buy one if you want one.

here come the smart as*ses... I can only learn by experimenting and reading guys. I heard that the HAHN kit is defintely one of the best for our cars, also the fact that there are no engine modifications needed was also a main reason i bought the unit. But yea i am new to this stuff and i dont appreciate people who have more experience talkin all tough all the time. Anyway ill talk to Team Vision racing on msn cause he at least seems to want to help...

It wasn't meant as an insult, more of a kick in the butt. Always always always always know exactly what you're buying before buying it. You'll save yourself time, money, aggravation, annoyance, blood, sweat, did I mention money.....

Hope your project works out for you.

see now people are going to get off your back because of how much offense your taking, but do you think there saying this @!#$ becuase its funny? do you understand what kind of changes your engine is going to go threw when you put a turbo on it. there is reason people say the things they do.

Dude relax. You oviously dont know what your doing which is fine because you said you want to learn. Key word was learn from READING. You should have definitly read up more before buying the kit. But as someone else said, its your money. Just dont coming crying when you blow your enging up expirimenting. There not picking on you persay, just busting your balls for a rookie mistake, if you get defensive over something like that, your in for a long ride here at the org and you might as well get off at the next stop.

I love lamp. You will be happy with the kit, a HKS SSQV valve is super nice sounding valve. I bought mine on www.hondamarketplace.com some pretty good deals,

I personally took mine apart, and modded it, so it would blow off with less CFM, so it would be easier on the turbo, and keep the spool up more.

HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

thanks ge_force. and again like i said, there is only so much reading can do u. also there isnt really anyone around here that i can hang out with and piss around with there setups. anyway. i heard you cant really go wrong getting the Hahn kit so I did. doesnt mean I am installing it immediately. I still need to find gauges and a decent price, along with a gauge pod to mount them. I am on a tighter budget as I am still going to university, so I do have to put it together slowly. thats why i am also on here to learn. thanks

^ one fell into the bermuda triangle along with the clamp, so then I took off the other one and saved the calmp

so now you can't see my exhaust at all except for the little bubble developing in my bumper

I have to throw some turndowns on it so I can hopefully save it.. at this point I don't really care, I'd like to try and find a silver 03-05 base model bumper so I don't have to get the whole thing repainted
