Hey guys, quick question for the j-body crew. I have an opportunity to purchase an entire front end from a 04 redline which has been burned. The rest of the car is burned but the engine bay looks to be in good shape. Just wanted to see what it would be worth? I was mabye planning on selling it for a profit or mabye buying an older cavalier and doing a swap. Just wanted to see what you guys thought about it. Good idea to buy it or no.
Wait, I made a mistake. This is the 2.0 ecotec with the supercharger. This is what I get for not being on the boards that much anymore. Im also thinking about picking up an older vert and dropping this in. I guess what I want to know is what kind of price should I pay for this engine. Thaanks
You need EVERYTHING. Not only the engine. If you only take the engine, either go with a normal TB and a 2.2 ecm or stand alone.

Yep, if you want to swap the 2.0 into a J-body you will need more than the engine. I've already attempted this, the timing marks on the crank are different on the two engines. You could get it running with a stand alone or all of the electronics from the redline.
12.770 @ 111.99 Intercooled Eaton M62
and the trans doesnt fit , and the cam sensor hits the master cylinder
Thanks guys. Ya I did some more searching and I found out it doesn't fit into the j-body platform. So I guess my question is now how much is this thing worth. Is it worth buying and mabye selling as a package or parting out the engine parts? Here are some pictures.
What was it that caused the fire? Do you know? Are all the plastic connectors and wires in the engine bay still solid or were they melted due to the heat in the interior fire?
From that one picture - it looks really good under the hood. Id go for it, although I dont know what its worth.
Do you know how many miles are on the car?
Check out my Part Out List!! Great Prices !!

If you get it, either get the complete car and remove it or atleast get the complete front clip so you get all the wiring needed.
