so I have spent the better part of the month trying to finish my car. it has taken every bit of free time I have had. I have had help, but none that could offer a second opoion. Its been 2 steps forward 1 step back the whole way. finnaly today I turned the car over. and dear lord was it a sexy sound. the turbo the open dp, the sound of oil spiling all over the ground......
yeah so like I said I basicly put it together my self, and I forgot to tightne down my line, so yeah, splash full synthetic all over the ground. any who my bat is dead and I have no way to charge it, and Im still trying to work out all the kinks.
as of right now the only problems I have to work out is that I have a leaky return( jb weld is hard to apply in a tight spot, the other thing I need to deal with, is a striped bolt in my exhaust mani. I have the tap just havent gooten to it. I also have some exhaust leaks that need tending to . but for the most part I thinkn Im good. I hope....
by the way when everything calms down and I get the car in better shape you can expect more videos pics and media then you can shake a stick out.
By the way I figure i owe a few thank yous. Im not going to put my name on the boosted list yet for fear of jinxing it, but I will say my thanks.
thanks to deekster jones, he helped me pick out my turbo and every thing about it. scarb for being blunt.......really blunt, and helping me decied to go MS, QBE for well, nothing really, but being there just in case ( he did let me ride in my car which kept me going a little longer. ebay, cause im cheap. the candian guy who makes manifolds.
and theres this other guy, he has a black car that is turbo. he helped me...ohhh.....a few times. so I gueeesss I should say thanks to him. Im sure he knows who he is

ok so whos ready for some sympotoms.
well for starters Im having a problem with fuel, I am working it out as much as I can but Ive had little time due to worrying about it melating. what I did figure was that it was showing really low vac. like 5 psi, Im pretty sure that it has to due with my @!#$ty VE table. sooooo anywho. the car is idling bad and jumpy at around 1g.
when I did take it out on to the road the car wanted to go. I didnt touch the gas once and it just kept heavy, the second I did hit the gas it died, again Im almost sure that this is a fuel problem and can be figured out pretty easy, but just incase someone knows something I dont, please let me know.

I know the feeling bud. i just finished a custom turbo setup on my 99 2.4L. it was a nightmare. many trips to the machine shop since things had to be custom made. spent a whole day at the muffler shop making piping. i can help you from experience. runs like @!#$ at low rpms and u have low vac. thats a main concern. make sure you put a chekc valve on your MAP sensor. many people will say you dont need to. But when you look into it, you will see you do need it and why. or talk to some peopl who haven;t put one in and blew their sensor. if you haven;t got you return line leak fixed where is it leaking from? mine was on the adapter plate that bolts to the turbo. i was getting pissed about it. what i ended up using was high temp silicone on both the feed and return. worked like a charm. also, make sure you used teflon tape on your fittings. plumbers use it for a reason, might as well do the same.
open dump. i've got friends that have that on their hondas. man is it loud!!!!! i find mine is loud enough, so i have it dump right back into the downpipe.
Also, what FMU did you go with? What psi are you running for boost? if you can get your hands on a wideband, it will save your engine. i have yet to borrow one cause i'm worries about blowing the motor. but then again, i love the sound of a turbo, so its hard to keep my foot out of it. clutch hates me, tranny hates me. hell, the who car hates me right now. but i love it. if i can help you anymore let me know
as of right now Im running a MS v2.2 I also have an open DP that is loud as @!#$. Ive got to figure out a way to fix my low vav, right now its just a matter of fixing it up Im going to get out there.
