Well here it is guys and some people are gonna like this.
Before I even go on I will say by no means do I condone like going over speed limint or anything.
Now that is said, to go on to what happened.
Today I was driving on the interstate in my Turbo Eco 2002 to be particular in the case someone don't know me and what I got, and doing about 70mph I SHUT OFF THE CAR!!
Before I go on I have to recap what happened so that you guys know WHY I did this.
Well I got this Wideband(Innovate) 2 months ago and messed up 2 sensors, the 1st time cause of lead this time I don't know why. It shows E 4 so what I have inquired it is suppose to be a bad connection but every about 7 times or so you turn off the car and you turn it on you get it to read again.
So I am driving and randomly turning off the car and starting it to kick on the WB. Funny ah?? Well I was bored.
Another thing, I turned the fuel pressure on my 650cc from like 40 to like 25 psi and I wanna see weather the 25 psi and boost refference on the FPR and AFC positived out can take care of my 19-21 psi.
Which it didn't happen so DON'T DO IT GUYS. 20+ psi needs a lot of fuel. I was getting like 18:1 A/F. Ouch!!!
Now to go back to the story here is the interesting part.
I pick up my girlfriend and we are both on the interstate I am doing about 70mph, when I turn off the car and pop the clutch to get it to start itself.
For some that don't understand the concept.
Your starter hits the flywheel which is bolted to the crank to start the motor.
Well if you are driving, you push in the clutch and leave it in proper gear (if you are doing 70 mph you are in 5th or 4th).You turn the key off and shut off the motor while chassis is moving, turn the key in ON position but don't crank the starter, but simply lift the foot off the clutch and the motor will start again.
What you are doing simply is, with the clutch pedal being pushed in the flywheel and PP is disengaged from the tranny. Now the wheels are still spinning and so is the clutch disk on the main shaft, so you let the clutch out the throw out bearing pushes on the PP it squeezes the disk on the flywheel that is bolted on to the crank and the MOTOR STARTS!!
LOL I don't know any simpler way of explaining this.
Well I did this and kept on driving so I am doing about 80 mph now, about 3000 rpmk in 5th and my girl says. ""You are not going 40mph, are you??""
I looked at the speedo and it is showing 1/2 of what I am really doing.
Now the 1st thing on my mind was weather I still have the governor or not at 108 mph which would be 54mph now, well being at 25 psi of fuel pressure I couldn't hit it without leaning out bad to find out.
However, I got to full stop speedo went to 0mph and it started all OK again.
Well dropped the girl off and got back on the interstate and tried it at anything lower than about 70 mph and it wouldn't do it but at 70+ the second time it was showing about 22-23 mph which is about a 1/3 of what I was doing.
I thought it was hilarious.
So this is NOT a way to describe how to disable the governor, I don't even know weather it will do it or not, I am simply asking if it has ever happened to ANYONE or am I THE ONLY ONE that shuts off the car and starts it back up doing 70.
I think the VSS gets triggered with the number of pulses.
I wish Todd (Protomec) or someone technical would chime in to explain why is this happening.
Well that's it.
BTW, sorry for long post, after all these years I thought I knew everything about my car !!! lol
