I've just been reading up and going through some build items to get my 2001 LD9 Supercharged Cavy to net me over 200whp.
I had a question to pose out there. I want to go down to a 2.6 pulley (adding the 2.0SS/SC injectors from a Cobalt and akly kit and wanted to see if my stock cams will take the abuse.
The car has a 3" CAI and 2.25 full exhaust system with hi-flo cat and pacesetter 4-1 header and engine mounts.
I'm also looking into doing some mild head work and getting an aluminum crank pulley designed for me this winter.
PS - almost forgot, HPtune also coming to net the better AFR to make it all work.
hp tuners will not really net you a better afr but having the bigger injectors and then using it to make it run like stock will.
your stock cams will be just fine, im running the 2.6 and a bunch of other mods with no problems but i wouldnt really run the 2.6 without the alky as you will just heatsoak your s/c that much quicker
headwork will always help....cams will work just fine, but they do have cam designs out there, just do your research, make sure your cam is designed for the power range you're looking for, and that it'll work ok with boost...
2.25 is a little small of an exhaust if you're boosting....I'd look into a larger exhaust of say 2.5 or 3" depending how much more you intend on going for....i personally would go for 2.5....but not top priority IMO
Right now I'm running a 2.25 cat back system, which will all change to the 2.25 front to back. I was looking into a 2.5 system, but after talking with two performance shops, a 2.25 will work with the 7-8psi I'll be running daily. they said the system will handle it unless I decide to go over around 240whp, then I need a 2.5 system.
Lafngas - how did you hook up your alky kit? I've seen a few designs for it and was wondering which would be best. I have a preference to run it into my intake tubing and not into a throttle plate - always worried about creating a leak in the system somewhere.
i have the resevoir and the pump in the trunk then routed the line to the engine bay
then the filter then check valve into a nitrous nozzle (BAD IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! and cost me a tps sensor) but i will be putting a throttle body spacer in between the s/c and the throttle body just to have that covered.
i have a cooling mist kit 150psi pump and the m2,m3,m5 nozzles.
what about those 2.0 s/c injectors, how can you make those work on the LD9. do they just plug right in?

gotta redrill some things and then they just snap right in, i have it done, super easy mod. the cobalt injectors are 1/4" short then the 2.4 ones so you gotta compensate for that by redrilling the holes higher.
^^such a great option to get the needed fuel without shelling out a lot of cash too.
or get the GTP 380CC ones, same length
GM PN 12508208
sug list 130.82 gm parts direct price should be around 70 Ea.

oh wait no joke the GTP injectors fit right in with no modding... thats awsome.
aww i got all excited for that, but i checked the part number on both pace and direct... it didn't come up with anything.
