I know my profec-B has an overboost feature, and a warning feature... I'm sure other aftermarket boost conroller products have the same thing.

The Profec b won't do anything if the overboost is due to a vacuum line blowing off the wastegate. Last summer my wastegate line popped off and i hit 29.8 psi, holy @!#$ fast lol.

Adjustable BOVs can be used similarly. You can set it so that it opens when pressures get to a certain range...a factory 1g DSM BOV will start releasing around 18psi for instance. It's kind of like overboost protection, just unintentionally.

Ahhh... thanks Jeremy I read that wrong.

As he said... if that line comes off... there's really zero you can do - you have no control. You're up sh*t creek without a paddle.

You could get a Defi gauge with warning feature that will beep if the boost rises above the warning level. BTW, Defi gauges are awesome, but EXTREMELY expensive.

you could also get a pop off valve which will release at a certain amount of pressure no matter what.. i know they use them in a certain race series to keep the playing field even... basically hit 6 psi it opens... get below 6 closes.

6 month ago i hit 22 psi with my ecotec and it blown my engine... so there is nothing except a warning gauge???? some stock turbo car like my friend dodge charger are cutting ignition at 15psi I tough something similar could exist... when a vaccum line break it dont tell it to you so if you are WOT boost is comming up so fast you dont have time to react!

You could use a pressure switch to cut the power to the ignition if you really wanted to...

dood stand alone.

You have to understand, the stock ecu was not meant for boost. it isnt going to have booost sensetive features.

the soultion:

standalone, go ms its cheap, its esay, and on your engine, everything you need is right there. Im telling you. go ms its a wish come true for boost feinds.

BTW if you go for it hit me up and Ill tell you everything you need to know

euhm.... i do not really like the idea... i dont want to do something very difficult...I actually use a SDS EIC (piggy back) for fuel tune up.. seriously I would prefer hptuner instead of a mega squirt, but i dont want to spend somme big amount of money again, maybe i will just be alert if anything goes wrong and later ii will change my mind and buy a standalone but for now i dont want to buy that

I have an idea,

run a waste gate to your charge pipe.

no really think about it. set you wastegate to a certain boost pressure, and if it over boosts, the second wastegate will catch it.
