I was wondering if anyone could lay down a real quick list of the pulley sizes offered for the M62 and the amount of boost each would push you up to. I've heard this-and-that but I just wanted them all in one place. Maybe even good places to buy them and prices if you're really bored.

ok there is the i believe 3.34" stock pulley which intercooled i think is rated at like 10 or 11 psi
the rest are from intense racing and for every 0.10" it is approx 1 psi of boost gained

2.90"
2.80"
2.70"
2.60"
and 2.50"
anything below 2.8" and you need the s/c snout machined to fit the smaller pulley

some shops do offer odd sizes like 3.15" or 2.85", so basically any size you'll ever need, you can find if you shop around. zzperformance.com sells some, pulleyboys, cobalt addiction come to mind too...

yea i was just using intense as a reference to all the sizes and stats. im gonna be getting their ported and polished housing and the snout. hey dante, do you know anyone who would powdercoat my s/c gloss black when i get it. like intense or anyone
i wouldnt coat it , itll keep to much heat in the s/c and increase your intake temps up higher
also going smaller than a 2.9 your asking for trouble , and it put the motor closer to its self destruct range , 270-280 flywheel hp
airtonics motor went south with a 2.8 pulley
unless you got a full built motor , forged pistons and rods
yea, i will be doing a fully built motor, rods, pistons, blower cams, and patriot performance P&P head
i think i read somewhere that the polished and coated s/c are better because it pushes the hot air through instead of it heat soaking the s/c, plus ill be doing the heat exchanger from a s/c cobra or a garret exchanger and intercooler spray.
plz tell me if im wrong about the polishing or coating.

somewhere around there, im not gonna go any lower than 2.6" pulley tho, the thing is tho, im wondering aout what i should tune with. and should i get the gm reflash first and then do greddy e-manage or get HP Tuners, im jw, thats really the only obsticle for me, the tuning aspect of it

but they polished their s/c and the iat readings droped considerably , this was on a 2.4 which comes with a coated s/c
the eco s/c isnt coated its left bare
that is a tuff call on what to do after , the stock s/c tune has been ok with a 3.0 and 2.9 considering you keep a eye on your fuel via wideband o2
i think using the stock n/a program , and doing hp tuners will benifit alot more
Ok guys, I'm gonna throw this one out there cause I heard it a long time ago (don't remember who from) and now I'm wondering about it. I heard that the 2.4" pulley pushed 26lbs of boost. I also heard something about doing something to the snout could get it up to 32lbs of boost. I am in no way saying this is true...I just heard it and was checking the validity.

smallest pulley ive ever heard of and seen is the 2.5" pulley, but i think that will put boost to around the 20-21psi range, and that is pushing the limits of the charger higher up in the rpm range, so i dont know how 25-32 psi could even be possible on the charger. as for the snout thing, the only mod i think is the machining to get it to be able to run smaller than a 2.8" pulley. correct me if im wrong guys
Yea...I'm sure you're right...like I said I don't remember where I heard that so I have no clue how reliable the source was. Either way, a fully built engine and 20-21psi would push some major HP. What do you think those numbers would look like?

By the way, I just went to pulleyboys website....and unless I totally don't know what I'm doing, I think they offer a 2.4" pulley. Go check it out...www.pulleyboys.com....and on there it says every pully 2.7" and under will need machine work done to the supercharger...which we already established, lol.

oh god, idk, i think you could get at least 325whp out of the charger with a fully built motor including head and full bolt ons too
i mean bolting the charger onto a stock engine and intercooling it is around 218whp at around 10 psi, so i think 325whp should be attainable

yeah cause going down by .4 inches to a 2.9' pulley (aarons cars) netted an additional 20HP, so droppping another .4" will gain me an additional 80HP.
Now I will grant you that Aaron is running an auto, but still I think that just a straight SC is not going to net you 325 HP, though I would like to be proved wrong. I mean that is adding almost 200 WHP!

it's already been done on the lsj, so why not on a fully built l61 ?

^^With the SC? I did a quick scan on CobaltSS, and the best I saw was 275 with the 2.4 and all supporting mods.

that from me says it all about the 325whp, and even the right tuning and i think it is very attainable and i talked to aaron about it too awhile back and he seems to agree
remember due to the flow of the S/C being fixed at pulley diameters, the LSJ will show a higher psi, since the same air is crammed into a smaller space (but with more pressure comes more heat). Porting and any other method to remove heat from the charger would greatly increase efficiency and therefore power. lower tstat, high flow cooling, etc. I wonder if a couple small fans mounted underhood to direct air up and over the S/C might be a good additional way to cool it.

^^^ agreed, with our more displacement we get the same if not mroe power at lower boost, and porting and polishing and matching ports will greatly increase efficiency and power

well from what ive read i dont think the charger starts over working until you use the 2.5" pulley, and its only at the upper rpm levels too, so i dont think overspinning or overworking is an issue for 2.6" and above. and if you port and polish and port match everything then more power will be created at lower boost, and really you wouldnt need anymore than 19-20psi anyways on the charger to be quick and have the power and still reliability, thats just my 2 sense tho
