does anyone know what size belt you will need if you remove a/c with the ecotec motor?
uhhh, just go to the dealer and tell them you need the belt off an eco that has no ac

or you can get a piece of string, and wrap it around as if you were installing a new belt. Get it all nice and tight, then measure it, you'll then know what size belt you need.

Tried that, according to the two dealers I've spoken with all ecotecs have a/c.

Yeah Jason I thought about removing my ac too but driving to those car shows in the summer is gonna kill.. You know how hot it gets here in the Midwest...!!!

i really dont mind not having ac when im driving around. now if im a work in work clothes or something id prefer to keep the car cool but out cruising i rarely use ac, its the wife that always has it on. i find it allot easier to drive with just the wind keeping me cool esp if im going to be outside all day long, going from a cold ac car out into the hot summer heat just seems to make it worse.

Are you saying it can't be done? I know one person who reoved it but he doesn't know what belt the shop used in its place.

And according to all the dealerships I've talked to, there's no such thing as a Toyota Cavalier, there's no way an L67 will fit in a 3rd Gen, you can't disable the DRLs, and aftermarket intakes and exhaust will only hurt your motor.
Are these really the guys you want to take advice from? LOL...
Just go to Autozone, Advance, Napa, whatever, and tell them you need a belt for an Ecotec without A/C.
I was able to locate a belt, thanks guys.
Maybe you could post the part number for those who are also removing their A/C?

One thing I found interesting is one is a hair longer than the other. Also, the with A/C belts, one is longer than the other. I'm buying the Napa one and will post the results when its installed (maybe a while before its installed though).
