As some of you may know, I have trolled this site for about a year and a half, I spent my time preping my car for a turbo, and over the summer I finnaly got the balls to put it in. the issue was, that I was self taught. all books and net no real help from anyone. but I had devoured every peice of litature I could get my hands on, so I had figured I was god.
it took me two months, but I finnaly had the car running...... "poorly" I had three major problems.
1. we had an oil issue, the car was leaking from the return, because of a poor instaltion
2. My charge pipes kept blowing off, becuase my intercooler was stolen and the pipes would work right with out it.
3. the stand alone was having massive issues keeping things in check due to the fact that airflow was never the same, with the pipes leaking every five minutes.
4. my down pipe.......... yeah just trust me on this one. if phil reads this Ill let him report. its always funnier from an outside source, becasue I try and redeem my self.
about three months ago I had taken a trip up to my jolly good freind qbe's house in amish country to try and fix some issues. we had deiced to fix the charge pipes and do the oil return later...... im an idiot.
the car was running great with the new pipe design. so well in fact that the MS kept droping the car back into warmup mode because the car was running to cold. So me being the genius I am instead of pulling over and changeing it just slamed on the gas to try and heat it up.
thats pretty much how I fried my gasket and manged to get phill out of his house at three in the moring.
any way. the car has been in a number of places since, and rests now at my teck school. I was about to give up and have in sent to gm to have a new motor droped in, when my freind who tows my car, decied to take a look at it. he said to give him a minute and called his freind.
the freind is a guy that drops RB's in to 240's. he asked how I was controlling the car, and I told him about the MS. he said that If I helped him hook up an MS to his skyline motor "I love saying that" then hed help me fix my car.
I really had to think about that one
so any way.
THE PART YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT

Forgive me if I'm wrong, and you know JCAVI or something, but if he said RB20, why would you go and assume he meant to say RB26?
Apparently he assumes that they only produce dthe RB26, all though they made several version of the popular RB series motor, ranging from RB20- RB28 as far as I know....
Im a bit confuesed as to what any one just said.
but the skyline had plenty of motors. the one that everyone worships is the 2.6 he is rockinking an RB 20. Ive honestly never heard of it, but I can hook up an MS on it

RB powered 240... Yum... The mechanic I take my car to when I feel lazy put an RB25 in his 240SX over the summer and it rocks monkey balls out of pretty much anything I've seen in quite some time, and that goes for the VR4s I've been working on too.
Hope all goes well with the Cavy.

Yeah I dunno either:
RB20 - 2.0 L (1998 cc, bore: 78.0 mm, stroke: 69.7 mm)
RB24 - 2.4 L (2406 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 69.7 mm)
RB25 - 2.5 L (2498 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 71.7 mm)
RB26 - 2.6 L (2568 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 73.7 mm)
RB30 - 3.0 L (2982 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 85.0 mm)
And then of course there were the turbo variants, but those are the displacement specs of the entire RB engine series.
