SO I am boosted(turbo) and well Just the downpipe right now is loud as BALLS!
I would like something Quiet as possible I ike the sound of just Intake myself, But Id rather not sacrafice any preformance.
I also have a limitation, I cant go past the axle in the back, I dont know that I will have clearance (air ride).
SO Im thinking 2.5" stainless from the downpipe to the tunnel, then ill put in two 20" resonators, id like a nice muffler in the fart can shape that will quiet it down.
So what do you all suggest, Ill either be doing a single turndown or ill bring it back and spit it to two 1.5" outlets between rear wheels
If you are going to do something custom, since you are boosted why not get a 3" turbo back?

A) Downpipe is only 2.5"
B) No one in town can bend larger than 2.5"
C) With my Air ride and tubbed out front end I have hardley any clearance, my 4y40E trans pan is only about 1.8" off the ground if that gives you an idea.
so Ill be lucky if I can get 2.5" to fit
Use a resonator then one of
these. It's the FlowTech Warlock bypass series. It flows great, it's quiet and if your at the tracks you can remove the 3 wing nuts and you have a straight thru exhaust system.

I'd say your best bet is just shove as much resonator as you can fit between the downpipe and the exit. I don't think you're going to fit a muffler before the axle.
Ok well Im going to go with two 16" long 3" inlet/outlet Stainless resonators and a 3" inlet outlet Magnaflow muffler like what Z Speed Cav linked to!
after shipping it will run me about 165$ for those 3 parts, install is $75 + about 25 to finish the downpipe.
So if I go with stiffer engine mounts will I need a flex pipe?
it would be smart to have a flex pipe with all the movement your car will be doing
always a good idea to have a flex joint...

Why on Earth would you use 3" inlet/outlet resonators and mufflers with 2.5" piping????????

ill be running 3" piping at the back.
the downpipe is the only part 2.5"
If I run th exhaust 3" it will leave room for expantion
Running a smaller down pipe than the rest of the exhaust is pointless. If you're going 3" make it 3" turbo back. Otherwise that 3" farther back isnt doing @!#$ because it's being bottle necked at the downpipe.
The outlet on the turbo itself is only about 2.25" around so should i cut everthing down?
3" is all of about $20 more for the whole thing and AGAIN! it leaves room for expantion!
WRONG having the larger pipe will still help.

Ok heres whats I have:
2.5" downpipe ===== 2.5" SS Flex Pipe===2.5 to 3"adapter==Flange|Flange===18" long 3" SS resonator===18" long 3" SS resonator===Magnaflow 3" SS Muffler=== Turndown
total cost of supplies(including shipping)
Reonators(both) $70
Muffler $82
Flex Joint $25
Flange $13
total $190
then I have to have them bend the rest of the downpipe for me to go around the oil pan and to the firewall I dont see that piece being over $50 then also like another 25 to install the rest.
As for my O2 sensors, I figure ill put one right after the flex pipe and the seocnd right after.
Two 18" resonators and a muffler before the axle?! Thats about 48" or 4 FEET of muffler/resonator BEFORE the rear axle. I'm not even sure that's going to work...
not a chance in hell that will work. there is no room for a muffler before the axle... just got 2 1/2 inch all the way back. i am quite sure u can still fit 2 1/2 inch over the axles and still be air bagged.

Im pretty shure it will fit, I made rough measurements, but ill check again tonight.
I have rolled the pinchwelds in the front and it still lays on that, its not a normal air ride setup it goes a bit lower
I cant run 2.5" over the axle, I promice.
I thouhght of maybe pairing two 1.5" pipes side by side to make it flatter and wider to MAYBE clear.
I measured and I DO have 54" to run the exhaust(thets from th firewall back so it still leavs room for the flange and flex pipe!
