Ok hi everybody, i'm an happy owner of a 1999 chevy cavalier z24 with a 2005 ecotec engine swap! I am turbocharge and i'm planning goiing up to 300-350WHP for year 2007! I want to make it using some internal of the 2 liter cobalt ss/sc
ok now i'm telling you the part i want to put into my engine!
- 2liter piston
- 2liter rod
- 2liter head(with camshaft and vavle
- 2 liter crankshaft
- clevite main bearing and rod bearing
- arp head stud
- copper head gasket (cometic)
I know i can buy forged piston and rod but i can have the 2liter ecotec complete engine for 300 buck! so this is why i'm considering it! so what do you think about that?? i will tune it to rev to 7500rpm and i want 350WHP maximum! will the internal be able to support that?? anything i wont be able to swap?? These part are suppose to fit in my 2.2 liter block or not??? please give me comment about that! if anyone have ever done it too give me your feedback about this internal swap

i dont think you can use the 2.0 crank....something to do with the timing marks, I could be way off though.

oohh do you have more information about that?? I really want to drop my engine to 2liter for more rev! but if i cant swap the crank I wont take the crank off for nothing

you can just beef up your current valvetrain if you want to rev high... I'm pretty sure you can't use the 2.0 head
14.425 @ 97.833 mph stock + GMPP s/c on drag radials.

the 2.0head fit perfectly on my engine ! they use it on the ecotec guide if i remember! the valve are in stailess! i'm sure everything fits except for the crankshaft! a friend of mine told me it will fit on my 2.2 block but i want some advice if it true or not

the 2.0 head takes more work than you think. The exhaust cam has a position sensor that sits about where your master cylinder is.

The stock 2.2 head will rev to 7500 with only stiffer valve springs, as stated in the Ecotec build guide. They even give you a part number: Bates Engineering High RPM valve springs - Part no. ESGV0001
