GM Charger

My unckle works for GM dealer. He looked up the GM Supercharger for my 02 Ecotec Cavalier. According to GM the superchager will not work on the 02 ecotec computer. Has anybody run into this problem? If so what did you do to get around it?

i have an 02 thats supercharged. no problems whatsoever. the kit for the 02's is slightly different because you have to convert to the 03+ fuel lines/rail, but everything else is exactly the same. here's the kit for the 02 ecotec clicky

the new fuel lines connect near the firewall. you just disconnect the old ones (having a quick disconnect tool is a good idea) and then just plug in the new lines. nothing too difficult. here's a pic of the connectors

that was the only part that gave me trouble since i didn't have a disconnect tool and ended up using a piece of a ziptie.

I don't think there were different fuel rails only different injectors in the fuel rail. I had to swap fuel lines, rail and regulator to put it on my 02 but my injectors were the Siemen type...I think there were Bosch style as well for the 2002 year also?

Thank you all so much for the help. I dont believe there were two different style fuel rails for the 02. Just different injectors, i know that much. After i get and install the kit, are there any upgrades available? Should i upgrade the injectors?

It all depends on how much power your looking for. I do believe that alot of guys running the gm sc are upgrading injectors, doing alky injection, smaller pulleys, porting the sc, etc. There are plenty of things you can do to make it even better. Such as bigger exhaust, intake, etc.

what i was trying to say was that some of the later 2002's came with the 2003 style fuel rail... i read that quite awhile ago though...

oh yeah and as far as the fuel rail and fpr just go to a junk yard and get it for like $30 bucks, be sure however that while your there get the fuel injector spacers out of the doner head so you can use the new SC injectors. I think i payed $20-30 for everything @ a yard

Re: GM Charger

the redline injectors look like the delfi/siemens injectors. like the ones that i should have in my car already. why do i need the spacers out of an 03 to use these?

The injectors in the 2002 are .250 shorter (than the SC injectors and 2003 and up)....therefore the spaces are needed to ensure they reach the head.

You'll get the injector spacers in the SC kit for the 2002 when you order it...part #1780003-02. This also comes with the FPR. I bought the kit from Pace and orderd my parts before the 1780003-02 kit was put together so I bought the lines, FPR and fuelrail separate (which came with spacers).

Hope that helped.

Re: GM Charger

You use everything that comes in the kit. Rail, lines, FPR, injectors, spacers, everything. Don't worry you'll get a big instruction booklet.

One more thing - do you have A/C?
