supercharger on my alero

this is kind of an introduction, but i'm also looking for some help.
My names Greg and i drive a 2000 olds alero with the ld9. you can check out my car at www.cardomain.com/id/shortyspunk99. I'm currently in iraq, but i'm doing a lot of research for my return home. i recently bought the gm supercharger kit for my car, but i have a couple questions that go along with it. i've done a good bit of research on here, so my questions hopefully aren't completly off key.

1. anyone have a copy of their install book that they wouldn't mind parting with?
2. someone mentioned Ron Beyer and his tuning of our computers instead of the reflash. is it worth it? what does this normally cost? and does anyone know if he's still available to do the tune?
3. this is my main question, is there any way that you can plum the supercharger up for an oil cooler with a small pump? has anyone tried this?

i appreciate everyone's help. and if you don't have answers, still check out my car and throw me some comments (good or bad).
thanks

About the oil cooler, you wont need a pump.... It should be fine if you just put it inline....

Thats about all im good as far as your questions though

Goodluck, oh.... And if you plan on running 10psi get a alky injection kit before even putting the pulley on.... BEtter yet get alky injection anyway because theres no intercooler made for that supercharger, PLUS its small so it gets a TON of heatsoak, which is bad

Ron is a good guy. If he is able to tune your computer i would deffinately have him do it. On a boosted application its harder to do a tune but for a s/c 2.4 he should be able to figure something out.

The GM supercharger doesn't have an oil feed/return line. It's a sealed unit.

i understand that the gm supercharger is sealed, i'm just wondering if it is able to tapped for an oil cooler, or if it would even be beneficial. i'm a little nervous to run alky through it. but, as far as that goes, most guys are saying it's very beneficial, and if i'm not constantly spraying it shouldn't be too hazardous.

i'm going to be going with the 2.7" pulley. most guys say they see around what, 8lbs of boost? what size injectors should i go with if i keep this size pulley. some guys are saying that this pulley is too much for the current injectors that come with the kit. what are most people going with?

Alky is safe, plus it cleans out your intake/valves. And it wont erode the blades.... Its like wearing a condom, things MIGHT not go bad if you dont wear one, but who wants to take the chance?

I do not have a paper copy of the GM install manual but I do have it in PDF file and I can email it to you if you want.

It was more than likely me who mentioned having Ron Beyer tune your ECU. I had this done to my car and it was worth every penney. I would do it again in a heartbeat. As you can tell I highly reccomend it. I am hesitant to say how much he charges because I do not know if he would like me to or not or if it is even the same price he charged me. I will say that it was cheap, even cheaper than the GM reflash. You will need to send him a PM or email him for a price. As far as I know he is still doing this.

As far as plumbing the supercharger for an oil cooler I do not think there is any need for it. FYI the supercharger only holds a couple of ounces of special supercharger oil. As far as I know there have been no problems with the supercharger that would make a mod like this beneficial.

Alky injection is a must if you want to go with a smaller pulley. It has too many benefits to list quickly but here are a few. Prevents heatsaking the supercharger, cools the charge of air, almost eliminates the chance of detonation damage, and yes it does clean your cobustion chamber by the steam removing carbon deposits.

As for the injectors. You can buy bigger rebuilt injectors for about 110 bucks shipped. If you have your ECU tuned with hp tuners which is what Ron Beyer does then your ECU can be programmed to run injectors that are intended to be used for the amount of boost/horsepower you plan to make.

thanks a lot for the information guys. i really appreciate it. here on the .org guys continue to push their cars and advance the market of tuning for domestics. unfortunately this isn't the case for most alero owners. most of the upgrades people have are a warm air intake and a muffler. the willingness to continually push the developement of our engines is amazing. you guys are doing a great job over here.

and now time for the q&a portion of the program...
1. which injectors would you guys go with for a 2.7" pulley? i really have little knowledge when it comes to injectors and any help would be great.
2. is anyone doing their own alky injection kit? where are you sourcing your parts?
3. what is the best location for the alky sprayer, between the throttle body and supercharger?
4. does anyone do throttle body maching for cheap that i could get one bored out to 56mm+ ?

I am running the Devislown.com kit, can be found on ebay or ad devilsown.com. Chance is the owner, very knowledgeable, easy istall and works well. I have mines running in my intake about 3 winches from the TB or so. Some people run the plates and do it after the TB. I have not had a problem and run a good amount of meth.

As far as injectors, I am running RC 320s on the 2.6 inch pulley, you may be able to use your stockers with an AFPR and a good tune, I am not sure what the max flow on the 2K+ injectors so dont quote me on that.

I am running the 2.6 and only see 4PSI with alky, not sure why just an ongoing frustrating problem. There has to be a leak somewhere so make sure you have good lines and gaskets before you put on the SC. Make sure there is no visible problems with the bypass valve either.

Good luck, Aleros are nice looking cars.
Chris

well, i'm glad i got the help with tuning, but my other questions still stand right now.

1. which injectors would you guys go with for a 2.7" pulley? i really have little knowledge when it comes to injectors and any help would be great.
chris fontana offered some help, but i could still use a little more info as to whether the injectors that come with the kit will be fine or not.

2. does anyone do throttle body maching for cheap that i could get one bored out to somewhere between 56mm-62mm ? i have the HO throttle body on my HO intake manifold right now, but a stock 2.4 throttle body bored out would be preferred as i'm selling the other setup.

and chris, as far as the bypass valve, i just purchased a new one off of gmpartsdirect.com. so, i know it will be fine.

You already have the HO manifold/TB sold? If not I'm interested.

the HO intake setup is already sold to a buddy on aleromod.com. i'm getting $300 for the HO manifold, 56mm throttle body, unorthodox underdrive pulley, and aem oversized alternator pulley.
i don't need another stock 2.4L throttle body, as i already have 2. i need one that is bored out for the supercharger setup.
