Nissan 300zx t3 60 trim
Sunday, January 21, 2007 8:36 AM
I can get my hand on a Nissan Garrett t3 60 trim from a 84-87 Nissan 300zx. I know the exhaust A/R is .63 but don't know about the compressor side.

I think this turbo will be great for my 2.4L.

Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks!

VG30DETT from the 2nd gen 300zx uses two t25 turbos

I don't know much about the earlier Nissan/Datsun motors though...it is possible that the turbo was upgraded, I know it is a new concept, but there are people who upgrade their turbos

Any chance you could get some pics of it?? Or can you measure the wheel size at all? That way we could tell you for sure what it is and whether it would be good or not.

I've run one of these turbos before and aboslutly loved it, although mine had a .48 exhaust. The 60 trim compressor wheel hits decently hard and it spools like a demon. I had no problems holding 14psi to redline and could make max boost before 3 grand. The only turbo that I have run that spooled faster was a .50 trim, .42/.48 .... but it didn't hit nearly as hard. Great turbo in my opinion.

I have that EXACT same turbo currently on my Ecotec...87ish 300 zx ...It is deffenetly a T3 i think the comp might be a tad on the small side BUT it does the trick i tell ya. Mine howver is only at 5 PSI and non intercool and i can tell a difference. If i would have to guess on my "butt Dyno" i would say about a 20 HP upgrade but every car is different sooo...I think it would be fine for your 2.4, INtercool that bitch and crank it up to 7-9 i betcha it will scream!!
