I was looking at the pace performance website it said the reflash is 2 hours labor
How many hours would the total instal be?
Ps this could realy mess me up i thought install was already in the price with the charger
Pace Performance wrote:Currently, Per GM, Vehicle Free Re-calibration is only valid at the dealer the kit was purchased from . So, For example, if you purchase a supercharger kit from us, Pace Pontiac, and bring your car here, it will be re-flashed for free. If you take the car to another dealer, you are obligated to pay for the re-flash out-of-pocket. Generally 2 hours labor. This policy has been mandated by General Motors.
IIRC, install is not part of the price. You might want to d/l the PDF and DIY it.
Dealer charged me for an hour of labor for my car. Going rate was like $90 bucks or so for them to get number from GM, and then plug the Tech2 into the car.
Do the install yourself, the hardest part is a little bit of grinding on the end of the head for clearance for the tensioner pulley.

I was charged 1 hour labor.
Also, do the install yourself as it's not that difficult to be honest. Get some local guys from JBO in your area and it will be done in an afternoon!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
sorry guys i can't do the install my self i don't even have hand tools
or basic skills
where do you live? i'm sure there are a few skilled jbo installers that would be more than willing to help you install it in your area. if you have the dealer install it, i think you'll end up paying a rediculous amount of money. on average, it seems to be taking most of us roughly 6-8 hours or so to install it, so at a dealer you're probably going to pay close to another $1000 for them to install it. if i'm way off on that estimate i apologize in advance.
There's got to be some JBO guys near you...east coast!!!
Post in the regional forum and save yourself $1000 bucks!!
It's not hard...you just need basic hand tools and I know there are lots of guys on the east coast, near you, willing to help out!

Not bad really...I've seen worse! But you should post up in the regional forums and see if you can get help! If I was around that area I'd be more than happy to stop by on a Saturday and install that thing!

Here is an exact pic of what you need to cut off....this is me hacking my block!!
I used a dremel to start the cut then finished it off with a hack saw and some sand paper to smooth it out!

It's a "nub" on the head that will hit the belt if not trimmed. Nothing hard to cut really....
Alias...I don't have any "fancy" tools...I'm just an ol'e country boy! LOL! Hacksaw and duct tape fixes most problems where I come from!

I used a file, did the trick just fine, and didn't take all that long either.

THANKS,JAMES
more bad news for me i finaly got enough to pull it off but my insurance company Esurance is giving me hassles
i call up and ask how much more i will have to pay with gm supercharger kit on the car?
the guy starts telling me how its a custom part and i need that for my policy. so he calls his supervisor over to the phone now it's under review by the Underwriter what royal pain this is. if only i knew how to drive stick and knew all this sh@t was going to happen i would the redline or the supercharged ss. between the dealers and the insurance company i don't know if i will ever get this done.
what did your insurance companies do when you told about the charger? to me it seems they wan't more money hell im willing to pay
My insurance company doesn't know I'm supercharged....
your smarter then me. im a worry wort . im worried that if i got into a accident with my car and they see the charger that will drop my policy and not pay for damages.
