Well, I ran across a deal I couldn't pass up, its a GT3076R brand new for $500.00
Anyway, is it a good idea to run the water cooling?, I guess the first question would be is it optional? Also, does anybody know the compressor outlet size OD? for some reason garrett and google aren't being as helpfull as usual.
on ball bearing turbos it mandatory to run oil and water lines, otherwise you'll burn up your center section, kane found that out the hard way, also dont run a oil restrictor

No oil restrictor....really? So, should I plan on running engine coolant throught this thing or make a setup using a small water pump and a small air to water intercooler?
plumb it in between your heater core....
but idk about a restrictor I woulda thought you cant run to much pressure, but idk to much about bb turbos

Well...atpturbo sells a GT30 oil restrictor that I already bought. So I'll call garrett and find out, not a big deal if I dont need to run it but we'll see.
I could do the heater core deal but wouldn't that heat it up more than you'd want....i know its hot, but do i really want to try to cool it with 190 degree F water?
well kane had 2 center sections go bad on his gt30r 1st was cause of water lines werent hooked up, 2nd cause he was running a oil restrictor... i just run a 5/16" brake line for my oil feed... also have run -3

i have a water and oil cooled garret ..i had it rebuilt by prescision turbo in indiana 2 times. they told me it was due to not water cooling the turbo. i learned from my mistakes...make sure u water cool it if has both cooling options .i tapped off the line that runs directly across the back of the 2.4 motor. its a 3/8 hard line that normally goes behind the motor and directly into the overflow tank....the line is under pressure at all times, and works perfectly...i dont know how ur turbo is going to be set up...by mine has little clearance for the fitting on both the feed and return water lines...was kind of a pain to get it to fit....
good luck
