Alrighty...hate to show my lack if smarts here but I just got my wideband in and now I need to install it....
I'll need a bung welded into the exhaust right?
I know....I know...I'll beat myself silly for everyone!
I'm running the Ecotec with the GMPP SC and have the IPerformance Tri-Y exhaust header/cat combo (to install). Assume it needs to go right after the collector where the pipes all meet?
Got to ask as I'll have to take this to a German guy and he won't know crap about this!!
Thanks guys!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
put it right infront of the cat , just behind the flange
in the red area , i suck at photo shop , lol

oh and you want the o2 sensor in the upper half of the pipe with the tip of the sensor pointed towards the ground
Wow...there huh?
Hope the clearance with the underside doesn't come in to play too much! Should have about 2 - 3 inches though between the exhaust and the udnerside I guess...once it's hung.
Thanks!

i had mine up closer on my 2.4 , and it burned out , the widebands dont like the heat the narrow bands like or can withstand
there should be enough room , since the after cat o2 is in the same basic location , just after the cat and not before
i just bought a spark plug bung and grinded it halfway off and it made for a perfect bung....it was like 5 bucks. I welded it in right before the cat. But be careful of your angle or it will read incorrectly...
9.6--1/8 mile @ 5 psi
I just picked up an AEM UEGO and it's instructions say if you're running high temps over 800C for long periods of time, mount it 36" away from the head. Also mount on a 10-degree angle with connector pointed upwards to prevent moisture from collecting on the sensor and shortening it's lifespan.
14.330 @ 96.37mph
I bought the new one from AutoMeter in the Cobalt Series...waited like 3 months on the thing to come out!!
All my gauges inside the car are Cobalt Series so I wanted to stay with the same style...even the dash is blue like the gauges.
It came with a bung and instructions but it just said after the collector and before the cat...that's a lot of area!
Thanks guys!

best area is where i said , because of the fire wall having a narrow tunnel , and that area having the most room
do the instructions show the working range for the gauge ? i know my innovate read from 8-9 to 21-22 before it was outta limits
aem went as low as 11 on the old 1's and now 10 i think

Believe it or not the instructions say :
"as close to the cylinder head as reasonably possible so that the sensor reaches operating temps quicky"
Looking at the instructions there is nothing that mentions the range...I'll have to hook it up and see how high and low it goes...I'd think at least 10 and 21? It has a regular A/F LED bar int eh gauge as well or you can look at the actual A/F numbers.
Pretty cool but I'll have to have the bung welded in and being in Germany...that should be a fun trip to find a welder!

lol , yeah that will prob be fun
bad thing is the way your header is made you dont have the room for it to read all 4 cylinders
[quote=97trd(???™)]bad thing is the way your header is made you dont have the room for it to read all 4 cylinders
Meaning? Bad design or just not room at the collector?
I've looked at headers for a while and my RKSport sucks!! I've replaced the gasket 4 times in two years!
I want the largest I can find, but not too large and this one seemed to be really good based on research...other than price. But, what the best, pay for it right?

the way the header and car it self is designed there isnt the room for it , even the pacesetter on my 2.4 was tight with the wide band , and it burned out the o2 having it close to the collector
put it where i suggested and youll be good
Thanks!
Should be going on in the next 30 days! Found a German welder too!!
