I got a brand new garrett GT30R turbo from a guy who bought it about 18months ago, never used it and decided he didn't want to anymore. Anyway, I look at garretts site and ATPTurbo.com to try to identify the exhaust flange I need and I cant match it to any current exhaust housing offering from garrett for this series turbo. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you guys can identify the style of flange from a picture. I'm thinking V-Band but from the pic I cant tell and I havn't seen it yet since I'm still away for work.
I'm wondering if there is something missing or this turbo was made for a specific vechicle since it seems the housing is even with the exhaust outlet so that would make putting on a standard v-band near impossible. Let me know whatcha guys think. I got the turbo cheap enough, if I need to get a new housing it wouldn't matter much.

not sure what to say, but that thing is HUGE
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
O its big....and so will be the numbers....ported 086 head, ho cams, OS SS valves, 9:1 Weisco final CR with valve pockets, Eagle rods, oil pump swap, crank work done,Full Standalone ECU, ect..........= badass. I'm almost done getting all the parts, hopefully have it done this year.

Well I just found this on Blouch's site:
3" V-band Turbine Outlet Flange
3” V-band flange designed to be welded to the turbine outlet of Garrett T4 style turbine housings with slip joint counterbore. May also be used for GT30R and GT35R turbine outlet applications. Flange is machined from mild steel.
So I think I need to get this flange welded onto it.
I hope you have a custom manifold to take advantage of the divided / twin scroll housing.

Hmm, thats weird.. My GT30 flange was part of the exhaust housing.. So i got a 4 bolt adapter flange for the downpipe from ATP turbo. I never seen an exhaust housing without a flange though.

If you want there are a few companies selling housings with v band already on the outlet and the inlet on the turbine side. It would save you trying to get a vband flange welded to that. Plus it would make more sense if you dont have a mani designed to take advantage of the divided housing anyway.
Im working on getting an equivalent length manifold made for this turbo, I dont know if you remember but atomic has made a few of these manifolds and I've emailed him asking if he could put a different collector on it to take advantage of this turbo. Let me know that companys name if you dont mind, I've got an email in with ATP turbo right now and waiting for a reply, I'm sure they got something that will help out but it never hurts to have options.
is that the .82 a/r exhaust? oh man, say hello to a honda-tech sfwd powerband
Blew it up, build numbers coming soon
I'm not sure I saw the post on vortex. I'll have to search for it
Yeah, this is not gonna be a very streetable car, I will try to street it but it will most likely be a dog down low. Thats ok tho I got other dailys I can drive. Well ATP got back to me and they said it is an "oldschool" GT, close to that of the new GT3076R like I thought, he said this turbo has some advantages over the newer ones. They said the twin scroll on this one works better and spools faster than the newer style so we'll see how it works out.
Hey David, around what rpm do you see your turbo start to spool?
Well we haven't started the car yet, but we're saying it'll spool around 3-3500k. Hopefully

You should be able to get spool by 3,000 pretty easy. The 1.8 guys are spooling around 4k with this i believe. So with .6L more displacement I'd think you should get that thing goin alot sooner
