How much boost will a stock LD9 hold? how much would it cost to boost it to about 8-10 psi?

A lot of people are going to ridicule you for this post, they will say things like how much cfm, and stuff like that, but I ran the gm s/c with the 10psi pulley on my old 96Z without any problem, but I'm going to go ahead and assume you mean turbo. In that case, not sure, but there are plenty of guys on here that run in that range on their LD9's, and as far as I know they don't have too many problems.

Just make sure you get enough fuel in, and you'll be just fine, as with any boost application. I don't know about building a turbo kit for the LD9, but I built the one on my eco for a little more than $2000, if that gives you any idea of what you're gonna be looking at price wise. That was a piece together kit, most of it was custom fabricated, so depending on the extent of your skills and people you know it might cost more, maybe less, bottom line, if you build your own kit you learn a ton more, but have different problems that others might not experience.

i heard some people getting as much as 10-15 psi on the 2.4 with stock internals. but the thing there is they had hours and hours, and hours of tuning to get it right

Yes, tuning is extremely important when you start talking about longevity and reliability.

Powerwise....

correctly tuned, about 275whp would be as high as I would go. More can be made but you'll be pushing your luck.

Blew it up, build numbers coming soon

I copied and pasted this from the sticky on parts needed for a cutom turbo kit. You can find most of the parts by doing a google search.

Turbo (generally a T3 or T3/T4 will do)
Wastegate (Internal or external)
Manifold
Turbo downpipe Flange
Bolts for turbo and downpipe flange
Downpipe
Braided oil lines with fittings
2.5" Pipe for charge pipes
Connectors and clamps for pipes
BOV and flange
FMU (I'd go cartech adjustable personally)
Bigger Injectors (if you plan to run over 6lbs of boost)
Inline/In tank pump
Boost controller (I'd go Greddy Profec)
MSD-DIS 2 (To turn back timing if you want anything over 6bs really)
TB Plenum
Lots of misc vaccum hose
Rubber Fuel lines for FPR
Oil and oil filter (for the obvious reason)
Gaskets
Gasket sealer
Air filter
Intercooler (optional, but worth it)
Some spare metal brackets for custom mounting the Intercooler
Misc bolts (self tapping), and Nut/bolt combos
Gauge pod
Boost Gauge, EGT gauge (optional but smart to have one)
(If you have a profec boost controller the boost gauge is unnecessary as its built in)

Some of that stuff I don't even have, like the fuel pump, but I don't know what the 2.4 puts out for maximum psi out of the fuel pump, maybe the msd fuel pump voltage booster might be a good idea.

You might be able to find it other places cheaper, it's just I like dealing with the guys at Gravana, they have been extremely helpful to me, the local shop by me just closed and I've been forced to go online for my purchases and dealing with Gravana so far for me has been great.
