oil cooler for gm s/c 2.4 worth it?

So i've been doing some research because i plan on putting a tranny cooler (probably the smallest hayden one) because I do long trips at times and at other times do some "spirited" driving. I also live in a hot climate. I figure it'd be worth it.

This made me think the same about an oil cooler, but after some research, it looks like its not worth it for my setup (would be diff if i had a turbo).

So, i just want to know that you guys also think that yes, the small tranny cooler would be worth it, but the oil cooler wouldn't be. Thx

of course it would, my tranny started slipping after the rebuild and 2.6 pulley and i installed a trans cooler and even in 90 degree weather it didnt slip and ran cool.

I'd say anything you can do to bring down engine temps is a good thing, however minimal.

I would do both. I do not understand why you would say no to a oil cooler. regardless of the application (charger, turbo, N/A). Cooler oil temps will help the motor.

cooler doesnt always help with motor oil , motor oil needs to maintain a certain temp range to be efficient

I have the Hayden Tranny cooler on my car and love it.. My rksport oil cooler will be here tomorrow for my turbo setup.. Both are much needed.. Like said above, anything is worth it if it keeps the temps down..

Get the tranny cooler as we discussed last night, skip the oil cooler.

Honestly, I don't see the need for a oil cooler on his setup.....granted it will keep the oil temps down......but....wouldn't oil that doesnt get as warm as it should be bad? On a turbo set up I would say YES get the oil cooler, but the oil doesnt run through our s/c'ers like it does on a turbo. Correct?

Besides.....Viper98912, I would rather see you buy "other" goodies.....*cough*2.6 pulley, alky kit*cough*.......O excuse me where did those words come from
