in a couple of months (money is tight now) i am going to do a manual tranny swap. so i am looking to also do a turbo application. is the hahn stage 1 the best one out there? (i am aiming for about 300whp) i am also looking at the HKS turbo timer and greddy boost controller. are those good?.. (Sorry i dont know too much)
also what gauges do you suggest? i was thinking aem wideband 6 in 1and the aem tru-boost and maybe a tranny temp one? any suggestions on that?
thanks
your going to need internals if you want 300 safely....
not really. there are plenty of people who have gotten to the 300+ mark on stock internals with no problems.
if your short on cash screw electric boost controllers. ive never used one and have had a few low 11 second cars and my current car may run 10's. there cool little toys but you dont need it.

name one.
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

Me. Lasted over 6 months on that power level after going for a year at 250+.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

touche, I have just read over that 800hp build, and at 284 crank all the rods broke on them, unless that has been upgraded that would be a major concern for myself. consider that was nitrous HP and at a lower RPM, but that ammount of HP requires some internals to be safe. There is obviously no room for error when you are pushing an engine to 100%.

Old post but what the hell, I'll comment.
I ran 300+ hp in my cav (now badasscav's) for over a years time. There have been several times where my egt's went a little lean and the computer pulled timing to save the motor. So to say there is no room for error is not true, you need to be in the ball park and have common sense to know what's going on with your car. That seems to be most people's problem, common sense. Hell one dyno session I got froggy and we turned off the boost controller and let her eat. I accepted the fact that car had a chance of severe failure and said **ck it. The car spooled to 19psi on a stock ecu, stock block, stock clutch, stock plugs, afpr, and fmu. It went to about 4000 rpms before it pulled all timing out and said it had enough. that was done about 1.5 years ago and as far as I know the car is still getting it in the hands of chris.
