erratic reading from AEM eugo wideband

Just installed my aem eugo, and it's been acting all crazy. It will read at about 14.7 at idle for a second, then go all the way of the charts lean for a second, then bounce back to high 14's, then back to off the charts lean, and just seems to keep doing that even while driving. Like it wants to go to the right reading, but then just either creeps back up to off the charts, or shoots right off the charts and comes back ..... has me stumped.... any ideas?

2.4L gm s/c pacesetter header with 2.5" downpipe to 2.5" exhasut. Wideband bung welded in the downpipe.

no edit, I forgot...

a lot of the time it will stay off the chart lean for a little bit, not just for a second. I am pretty darn sure I'm running fairly rich, as the new exhaust I've had on for about 3 days already has a nice black film developing on it. The exhaust shop welded the bung in the downpipe, and wired up the o2 sensor, so all I had to do was plug in the 4 pin connector with just the power and ground.

The AEM is erratic, but you're describing it being very erratic. Mine rarely goes off the chart. It should bounce a lot.

Are you sure they mounted th bung correctly?

i know 2 people with the aem , and its pretty stable in their cars

you do have the 02 before the cat correct ? check for exhaust leaks

my cav with the innovate wideband , idle went from high 13's to high 15's , wide open with the stock s/c injectors i was in the low 13's , once i did the 36lbs i was 11.5 under wide open , idle was the same

the 02 sensor is before the cat. in the downpipe. there may be a small exhaust leak where the header meets the downpipe.... those spring loaded bolts aren't really the best thing in the world. maybe I should just ge ta flexpipe welded in. hmm..

Your O2 should be a lot further than 18" from the head, being boosted. Says so right in the manual.
