cheap 3.1 turbo system

i don't post much but i thought some of you guys running a 3.1L would want to hear about this. i found a factory turbo system on a grand prix in a junk yard in Hancock Md. called J&S Salvage the guy that owns the place wants 300$ for the motor with the whole turbo system but the motor is locked up i still think it was worth mentioning I'm not sure on the millage but i do know it has a garett turbo and is intercooled

hmm, I had no idea you could get a 3.1 turbo, that is awesome, did you take any pics??

BUY THAT SETUP FOR THAT PRICE!!!!

Those are EXTREMELY RARE cars. It will take some work to adapt to your engine but will be worth it because it has an turbo manifold already.

If somebody has already tried using this setup and it doesnt work please chime in.

I actually was able it a Turbo GP in person. They are sweet !!!!! If you can pick that up for $300 bucks DO IT !!! Just make sure to get all the electronics for it too. Get as much as you can - intercooler - pipeing.

SAME.........SAME.........SAME but you would have to get a new upper. ........

get it now? all (most) GM FWD mounts have the same mounting.

That whole setup is made by McClaren. That is a rare setup.. I had an 88 Grand prix and I almost got my hands on the setup but it got sold before I could come up with the money. Its a stout building block for a turbo car..

You must have the crossover (which is probably already cracked), ECU chip (a must), downpipe, and injectors.

i personally wouldnt use a turbo that came off a car with a screwed motor. my friend did it once, turbo lasted about 30 miles. had another friend that built a motor and put a brand new turbo set up on his dsm and everything and didnt think and ran the whole set up on break in. metal scrapings from the bearings breaking in got up into the turbo, it was pretty nasty.
