Ive been searching around for a dipstick or a replacement or something to move the stick out of the way of where the turbo is going to be located.
I have been unable to find anything, I know hahn and jtuners have then in their kits. but im not sure if i can get just that part from them (already sent an email to hahn)
Is there anywhere that i can get one or is anyone not using one that they have from a kit? Whats a good solution here? Im trying to aviod having to cut and weld as i dont have access to a welder and i want to minimalize shop time.
I was thinking of just going to a junkyard and getting one fabbed in a different location, but then comes the issue of not knowing where to run it, or how to modify the dipstick so that it reads the correct amount of oil. does anyone have pics of a 2200 relocation setup or something that I can go off of If i choose this route?
thanks for any help, this site is making my turbo project LOADS earlier, i give credit to those who have already helped, you know who you are
THANKS!
if u have a torch then u can allways heat it up and bend it. thats how i did mine
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
Thats absolutely sexy steve. I wish i had the money for something like that. I contacted hahn and they want $90 for a tube, however, i think im going to try getting one fabbed off a junker that i find. If i cant come up with something that i like Ill get the hahn piece, but it will most likely be home made.
the top of the filler was capped off with a piece of metal, and then the tube on the side you see is the oil return from the turbo. It dumps right into that tube, and is a perfect place for it.
the drain size I am using is 3/4" heater hose. We used it at my old work on turbocharged aircraft engines, so its tried and true.
hope that answers your PM, if not, msg me back.

hows that? welded an elbow out of a piece of galvanized steel and finished off with some weldfast... needs sanding...
Not too bad... Ill see what i can come up with. thanks again for the help!
and for your turbo oil drain... try this, lol
these are some pretty cool set ups. i didn't really know this was a problem, but now that i think about it that would be dead center in the middle. cool ideas guys
Luckily I didn't have too much trouble with mine. Since I had a custom top mount made, they just made sure it was built around that inconvenient oil tube. I'd show some pics if I had any.
