Eco S/C with no air conditioning - read if you don't have A/C
Sunday, April 08, 2007 2:16 PM
I just thought i'd post this as an FYI, the GM M62 kit is designed for cars with A/C and in order to use it on a car without you must either bolt up an A/C compressor or come up with a pulley to replace it. I have a junkyard compressor on mine and it's function is just a pulley.

Hope this helps someone from having the same problem we did

I've thought of taking my AC out...not like I ever use it!

Thanks for the info...

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

www.mantapart.com you could try this.... OP 4519EC ECOTEC 2.2 TC A/C Eliminator Pulley Kit: This special cast bracket and pulley assembly replaces the complete air conditioning compressor on your engine to remove the extra weight and load of the a/c system. It frees up HP and makes the belt system more reliable. Combined with the crank power pulley kit it will give a nice power increase on most stock and more on modified engines. Note: Your a/c system can not function if you make this modification.

OP 4519EC $75.00

BUT IF YOU ORDER IT HAVE THEM SHIP IT C.O.D IT WILL TAKE THEM FOREVER IF YOU DONT.

Later,James

you can always measure the size of the belt you need and buy one that size at napa, or other stores. or get one custom made lol. Thats what im doing since I cant find a belt for the rk sport underdrive pulley with no a/c.

I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'

Finding a new belt would be a fantastic idea if the routing of the S/C wasn't such that it requires the A/C....

We had to run out and get him a junkyard compressor just to finish the install... lol. Good thing it was noticed in time.

Yeah how 'bout you stick to making your little Eco swapped car run 14s and leave the supercharger talk to the people who actually know about it Thanks.

We did inded luck out on that, with the wreckers being both open on Easter Saturday, and not too far away.

James...your running the MantaPart kit on yours?

I'd like to remove my AC but I'd also like to know someone who has actually done this!
