I know that the two are some what mutually exclusive but I was wondering if you have a turbo'd car what sort of fuel economy can you expect just cruising around town? Obviously if you punch it yer gonna suck down gas...
I am thinking of so many things to do to my car......not really sure where to start. This is all a new hobby for me.
This would be on a daily driver....so if turboing makes it terrible on gas i'll scratch it off my list.
Thanks
Same here. 30MPG Highway/26MPG City now vs. 32MPG Highway/27MPG City stock. I have gotten up to 36MPG on the highway before while cruising out of boost at 70MPH...still can't explain that one.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Turbo's not out of the question then!!
Ahh cool.......soo once I do the front suspension...IRS/Disk...Eco swap.....build it up.....Turbo....Airbags.....uh.....yeah that should do it.. Then of course I need to fix my stupid cracked dash....finish my interior power conversion.....
So far i have put on a WAI......so much to learn, so much to do.
Thanks
Havent had enough time to settle down with the car yet but with a @!#$load of idle time and lots of city and some highway i still get about 21-22 MPG. About what I used to get with the S/C. Once I get used to the newfound power and can force myself to drive better it will improve greatly. For now my 98 is for the economy.
what is this "fuel economy " you speak of

I know huh, its not so economical to buy fuel these days..... "Fuel Economy" is an oxymoron
So although I'd like to run turbo if it sucked the fuel too much I couldn't on a daily driver
well ill say this ever since ive boosted my car(which will be a liitle ovee year and a half) ive been getting between 17-22mpg with mixed driving ..but thats at a consistant 18psi with 22psi spikes when at wot. so it is not completley out of the question for you sir..GO FOR IT BOOST THAT BITCH

haha, yeah seriously....witchcraft?
Comparing the Hanh stage 2 to the GM ECO SC I got WAY better mileage with the turbo. Turbo 33-34 Hwy, 26-28 City. SC'ed 31-32 Hwy, 22 City.
