Problems already???
Monday, March 26, 2007 2:58 PM
The Supercharger was awesome for about an hour. I got on it a few times, not thrashing, just checking it out, when all of a sudden, Its like its falling on its face. When I give it gas it kinda sputters, or it goes, then like it went into neutral, then goes again. There is no crazy noises, so I don't THINK its anything major, but I have no clue at this point.

What do you guys think? vacuum leak? Anybody else have this problem?

Please help if you have encountered anything similar.

Thank you,
cya

o4blackfire: Did it seem strong initially?

Could it be this thing I hear "heat soak", car was actually running longer than stated earlier, you know stop & go traffic, sitting at idle whiling showing it to friends and so on.

By the way, just took it for a spin, and pulled to about 4G nicely, no sputter?? What gives?

Never been supercharged before, and just trying to understand it.

Thanks for the response!!

I would check your plumbing around the throttle body. I had a hose that was leaking bad. Also check your sensors. If you have a check engine light on you can rule somethings out. Good Luck!!!!

No CEL's.

Just took it for another drive, spirited but not WOT, it isn't sputtering. I'll let you guys know how it responds on the longer drive to and from work tomorrow(actually later today).

Just realized too, they pretty much washed the engine bay after the install( I mean WASHED), could there have been some moisture in one of the sensors or connectors that might have caused the problem?

Again NO CEL's...

How can I tell if the TMAP is wired backwards, does someone have a diagram?

Thanks for the responses!!

Mine has had that exact problem since I installed!

Not sure what it is either...

The car has been down for a few other mods and most of the winter so I'll have to see if it's still doing it as it comes and goes and seems to be less now than it was when first installed.

I may have to look at my TMAP since I did all the wiring myself...

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

Well it drove fine today. There was no WOT, (well maybe once ), with no noticeable problems.
But again the car was running for a more extended period of time yesterday, with considerably more throttle.

If anyone has a diagram of the TMAP wiring, or pics that would be cool.

Another Question: At what RPM are you really hearing your S/C come to life. I have a fairly tame 2.5" catback, and really only hear it coming on at around 4,000rpm. Does this sound right??

Thanks all!

Yep..about 4k or so unless you drop to a 3.1 or 3.0 pulley.

How's the car running?
