What's up everyone, I bring you more good news, I just got off the phone with the folks at Rhoads Lifters and asked about a set of anti pump up lifters for the 2.3 ho and was told that they can modify any hyd flat tappet lifter into one of their high rpm anti pump ups for $160.00.
So now those of you who want to run higher rpm without your lifters pumping up and hanging your valves open then these are for you. Plus with their quick bleed down at low rpms they can tame radical cams and make them more streetable at low & mid rpms and sitll give you full power in the upper range!
They can do it with any lifter, but I would recommend buying a new set and shipping them out to get modified, that's what I'm going to do.

Thats a pretty sweet deal. Very nice mod for those revving high without a doubt. Do you know if that price is pretty general +/- for other lifters or more a call to see kinda thing? Also did they say what exactly they do in terms of "modify" the stock lifters?

I knew that Rhoads made the anti pump up lifters for many other makes of cars so I googled them and got the phone number then called and asked about lifters for the 2.3 and they told me the price so if you do the math $160/16= about $10 per lifter give or take but don't quote me on that it's best to call if you have a different application.
The $160 price is to modify 16 lifters for a DOHC application, and the biggest benefit of the anti pump up lifters is that they cut the duration and lift of the cam at low to mid rpms, think variable valve timing here. So if you're running say a 252* @ .050 .460" lift cam then with the Rhoads lifters at idle your cam becomes more like 220* @ .050 .420" lift which is far more streetable and you get you idle vaccuum and low end back with bigger cams.
I'm thinking about getting the 252 @ .050 .460" lift cams now and selling my brand new W41 cams.
