Ok I have a motor that is a 2005 ecotec sitting on my engine stand that only has 700 miles on it.
It has been sitting there for some time and I was wondering if I could nicely wash it down with
parts cleaner in my parts bath?
I have the solvant from kleen-flo that is ment for engines and engine parts I was just wondering
if I could do it safetly or not.
I know if I can do it I will have to put a thin layer of moly lube on everything but that is not a problem
at all I would just like to know if I can or not just asking to be on the safe side of things with all the
money in parts I have to put into this build for my turbo setup.
Thanx in advance for any help and suggestions.

well, i'd double check that whatever solvent you're using is safe with aluminum, but i've never heard of anyone damaging parts by using a standard bath-type mineral spirits part washer. As you said though, coat anything that can rust like the cylinder liners.

so you are saying dont wash it down with parts wash and just spray 9 it all then use a sh!t load of brake cleaner instead?
Is that a good idea with spray 9 to be in there

so I am guessing from no response that the way to go is to wash it down
with the engine bath solvant and then build the motor.
